Your Tidy Cottage

They arrived Monday morning without all the equipment but did start on the windows right away. They stripped the hospital tile and cleaned it to prepare it for sealing. This is where the problems began. Originally they said the sealer would need to dry overnight and they would be back the next day to do the rest and all the other floors. This was good for us because we were painting the inside of the house and needed more time to finish painting and get the drop cloths up etc. Monday they changed the plan and said the sealer would dry fast enough they would do it all that day. Irritating change in schedule but we felt pressured to agree. Now I am running all over trying to prep the rest of the house for cleaning and finish painting. I don't think they applied the sealer because we were told that by Tidy Cottage you would not be able to feel the cracks between the tiles if it was properly sealed. Not only can we feel them but we can scratch the wax up from them too. The machine they brought in to scrub the ceramic floors was from the '40s or '50s. The ceramic floors looked better when they were done but they still turned our feet black after standing on them. They used the same machine to buff the floors. This produced zero cleaning effect. Then they tried an abrasive pad not properly affixed just sort of laid under the machine. This scuffed the floor and still produced very little cleaning effect. They did not know what else to try. Overall my floors were only marginally cleaner but my windows look good.
