The bid I first received was for 3 men and 2 trucks and the price seemed very high. After speaking with the estimator we agreed to 2 men and one truck but with the understanding that all my stuff may not fit. The price seemed more reasonable.
The guys (John and Wilson) were late getting to house, they were supposed to be there between 1-4, it was closer to 5 before they arrived. They had come from dropping off furniture somewhere else and the weather was bad in the area.
When they finally did arrive they were very courteous and seemed eager to please. They worked very quickly load up the truck. They obviously knew what they were doing and had done this before. They wrapped all the furniture securely and loaded carefully. I was surprised to see how much of our stuff the packed in that truck, especially when we kept throwing things in at the end. They were done loading our 3 bedroom house in about 3 hours.
They were supposed to be delivering on Saturday at 1:00 in Lynn Haven. Again they were late, but had driven the truck late into the night to get home. Once they arrived they moved very quickly and had every thing unloaded and re-assembled in 3 hours.
They did forget to hook up the water hose to my washer but when I called the office 2 days later they had someone here within an hour to do it.
Overall I feel like it was a good experience and will use them again.
This was the most horrific moving experience we have ever had. I have moved 14 times and have always used a professional moving company - EXCEPT for Two Men and a Truck. They were EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. They completely destroyed my desk and hutch. The driver and the manager were rude, didn't communicate well, were unbelievably slow, and outrageously expensive. They didn't put the furniture in its place, they damaged a doorway, a wall, and my brand new refrigerator. They refused to repair anything. The email I received stated that they didn't cover the type of desk I had. They made no mention of the other items. If we had known they didn't insure the desk we would have moved it ourselves. We could have moved it without destroying it. They didn't clean up the wrapping from the furniture. They left garbage in our home. These "professional" movers didn't carry a measuring tape with them to determine which furniture would fit through specific doorways, so they crammed our furniture through when they could and ended up having to move furniture over and over which caused us to have to pay more since Two Men and a Truck only charge by the hour. The longer they take, the more they make. We finally had to demand that they leave our home because it was such an awful experience. The driver was very rude to me and to everyone around - including his co-worker.
One of the reasons we initially chose Two Men and a Truck is because they are supposedly bonded and insured. I made several attempts to contact the manager and he was very slow to contact me. Each time I tried to make contact I had to email and call multiple times. When I couldn't reach the manager of the local office, I contacted the corporate office. They seemed helpful and did get in touch with the local office to contact me. I guess that's what "inspired" the manager to finally return my call. However, when he did finally contact me, he was inappropriate, rude, and unprofessional. He seemed very angry on the phone that I contacted the corporate office. I wouldn't have contacted their office if he had just responded. Instead of making a single apology, he kept telling me what a great driver we had and how no one had ever complained about him. He stressed to me that this driver had been with them just "over a year" and had people request him "over and over again". I found that to be a very odd statement since the minimum lease in Florida is 7 months and that means the same people cannot move "over and over again" in a single year.
Since my experience with the driver was the point of my call, it wasn't helpful to hear about other people's experience. That wasn't the topic of the conversation. In the end, we got nothing for our damaged furniture, doorway, or wall. We experienced a tremendous amount of stress during and after the move because of our interaction with this company. I contacted the corporate office a final time when I could get no resolution from the local office. They explained that because the local office is a franchise they really couldn't do anything to help. It's pointless to have a corporate office, if the franchise owners have no accountability.
I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. This is BY FAR the most UNPROFESSIONAL company of ANY KIND that I have ever encountered. I have never dealt with a company with less integrity. I hope other people will see this and choose anyone except them. I do believe that companies that operate with no standards and no integrity will eventually put themselves out of business.

This is my response to the company comments after my initial review. Two Men and a Truck offered NO partial compensation. They did offer to bring the original crew back to my house so we could all discuss the damage and the situation. Since I asked the crew to leave initially, I didn't want them back in my home. I'm glad that they decided to apologize online after my initial review - because they CERTAINLY DID NOT apologize before my review. Two Men and a Truck is welcome to contact me and offer monetary compensation. To date, they haven't. Their response is untrue.
"We were extremely concerned to hear of this customers dissatisfaction with her move crew. We did make several attempts to come to her home and complete the move after she demanded the move crew leave her home. The movers were only onsite for about three hours and the job was estimated to take at least nine. The desk that was damaged unfortunately was not covered by our damage policy due to the fact that it was made of particle board material which is not designed to be put together and taken apart once it is assembled. Again we were willing to offer some monetary compensation for this but the customer wanted an all or nothing resolution. The manager did offer to go to the home so he could asses any further damages but the customer would not allow this. Making it impossible to verify and damage existed. This customer has our deepest apologies as it is always our goal to impress and not disappoint. We only hope that this customer will find it in their heart to forgive the company or allow us to resolve the situation calmly and professionally."
Great moving experience. We have moved 3 times in the last 3 years. In the past we have been swindled by a moving company who was 5 hour late, didn't move all our stuff then changed price when it was time to receive our stuff . Two Men and a truck have a flat fee per hour includes tax with a minimum of 4 hrs. We scheduled for 8hrs. We did our own packing this time. The guys (Corey & James) showed up on time. They got right to work. They were fast, careful with all of your stuff and very efficient. They exceeded our expectations and got the job done in 4hr minimum. It was the smoothest move we have had. I would use them again .
These guys are fabulous. Truly excellent! They handled our belongings with extreme care! We cannot express our gratitude enough. This is the fourth time we have used this company in the past 3 years. Each time was a wonderful experience. Each time was with different crews, and they were all perfect! We have moved many many times including all the way to Hawaii, and back. We have used all of the big name movers etc. We started using Two Men and a Truck when we moved to Panama City Beach and needed help with local moving from storage to our home. Now we have used them for a big long distance move and it was just as perfectly executed as the local moves....from the first phone call to set up an appt. to the salesman who came and estimated the move to the hard working movers. The moving men are nothing short of exceptional. Their attitudes the entire time were exemplary. We had a two story house so it was hard work. These guys WORK WORK WORK. So worth every penny! :)
When they finally finished unloading the truck, I listed the damage they did while moving the furniture. After a couple of weeks trying to get a date for them to repair the damage, the manager finally called and sent someone out. This guy did an okay job repairing what he did, but told me he didn't repair sofas and they would send someone else to take care of that. Well, my sofa still has the tear in the leather.
I spoke to the manager today, when he heard from my credit card company that I was disputing the charge. I told him, just as I told the credit card company, I don't mind paying for the six hours estimated, but I shouldn't have to pay double because he sent inexperienced movers. He said he would never give an estimate of four to six hours, but 8.3 hours was more reasonable for what I had moved. Okay, then. I would probably settle with paying 8.3 hours, but he didn't even offer to settle with that. Instead, with him being hostile, he said he would report back to the credit card company that I am simply refusing to pay for services rendered. If he'll look at the work order, he'll notice I signed nothing stating the services were rendered because his movers didn't finish the job. However,he was not willing to discuss any of this with me and wouldn't work with me at all.
"We were deeply sorry to hear of [Member name removed] dissatisfaction with our service. We strive to impress and satisfy every one of our customers needs. When initial estimate are given by phone they are based on the amount of items reported by the customer. There is no exact science to this and our customer service representatives are trained to ask as many questions as possible to give the most accurate estimate. Our staff is also well rehearsed on reminding customers that our company does bill by the hour regardless of the estimated time and that all payments are due upon completion of services rendered. At no time during his move did [Member name removed] notify our office that he was dissatisfied with the amount of time it was taking. He did not let the employees know until the job was completed either. [Member name removed] did claim that some items were damaged during his move; which we made diligent efforts to repair. Every time the licensed repair man would repair one item more items were added to the list; turning this into a perpetual process. It was not until 60 days after the services were completed that [Member name removed] decided to dispute his credit card charges for the services rendered. We are deeply sorry to find out that he is not satisfied with our attempts to make him a happy because we truly care about every one of our customers. We hope that [Member name removed] can understand that we did everything in our power to make him happy and we wish him the best in his new home."
The staff and I left the condominium complex at the same time. I arrived at the destination, storage unit in Callaway. After waiting a few minutes, I went to the bank . When I return, I took care of a couple of items at the storage facility. I wondered about the truck because it had already been 30 minutes since I arrived. The truck finally showed and I was informed the driver had to stop on the way, but I would not be charged. My belongings were transferred from the truck to the unit. I asked if the driver would be willing to take the chair and bike to my new home exactly two minutes from the storage facility. It was very kind of them to do this and I was provided the bill when we arrived. I was surprised it was significantly higher than quoted and they would not honor Angie's List membership coupon. I was told they did not know anything about being on Angie's List. Although I may consider Two Men and A Truck in the future, I will be much more careful about the fees and possible discounts in advance of arranging the service.
Two Men and a Truck may have mulitple franchises in Panama City. I was a little disappointed because I am a new member on Angie's List and the first experience was not exactly ideal. Two Men and a Truck is listed on your site, but the staff and person they spoke with via phone was not aware of the listing. Please advise.
"Hi [member name removed], We are sorry that you feel you had a less than stellar experience with your move! I've reviewed your sales order and the GPS history on the truck. According to our information, the movers not only charged you at a discount, but took 15 minutes off of your drive time. They charged 15 minutes drive time from your previous location on the beach, all the way to Callaway. Please feel free to give us a call at 850-785-2222 if you'd like to discuss your move further! Two Men and a Truck are the movers who care!"
12/13/12 Again, excellent service. They were on time, very professional, and worked quickly. They brought items to my home, unloaded them and were extremely careful in my home. Perfect move once again from start to finish. This is my "go to" company for this type of service and I highly recommend them to anyone.
