I am writing this review to warn anyone that is thinking of using TexCote paint, to paint their home, not to waste their money. There are several areas where their paint began peeling, chipping and fading and anywhere the sprinklers hit, the paint has turned a whitish color. I had specifically asked the salesman whether the paint would be affected by the sprinklers, because that was an issue I had at the time, he assured me it would not. I contacted the company that used the TexCote paint on my home, back in 2008, to explain the issues I was currently having. They informed me to contact TexCote directly. TexCote sent the paperwork I needed to fill out, before the warranty could be honored. I returned the information to Shelby, at TexCote, in September 2013. After numerous attempts to reach Shelby, I finally spoke with her in late October. She informed me that she received the pictures and paint sample and determined that the problems were not due to product failure, but an application issue and I would need to have the company, that used their product to paint my home, do a physical inspection. Perhaps the peeling and chipping were application issues, but how can the fading and whitening of areas be an application issue? The TexCote warranty only covers the product, (not labor), IF the issues are deemed product failure, however, Shelby did say that she would be willing to send me a gallon of paint for the repairs, once she heard back from the company. After the holidays, I again made several attempts to contact Shelby to find out why I had not received the paint, since the inspection had been completed in November. I left her numerous messages, which were unreturned. I had to remain on hold with their operator, to finally speak with her on 2/25/14. At that point she informed me that the company that painted my home would need to order the paint, before she could send it to me. In the meantime, I dug through my garage (which is no easy task) and found a gallon of the paint. After scrapping and priming one of the problem areas, I painted it. As you can see by the attached picture, the TexCote paint has faded so much, these repairs are going to stand out like a sore thumb. I don’t see how these repairs can be blended in, without repainting the entire house, which won’t be possible, with one gallon of paint. This “lifetime” product didn’t last any longer than the paint used on my home in 2002, for a cost of only $1,300, not the $12,500 I paid for TexCote. In hindsight, I could have had my home painted 7 or 8 times, for what it cost for this one paint job, which I was told would last forever and began to fail in 3 years.

Permanent Exterior Coating sent a representative who explained how the material works. This is very important in Florida where we get hurricanes. The representative was a very nice polite young man. He was very professional and told us to call him with any questions. I was very impressed with the presentation.
