These guys were awesome, showed us what we needed to do and saved us $20,000 because we did it ourselves. This was not as hard as I thought they also sell moldings and interior doors. Thanks to everyone who helped us and was patient with us rebuilding our money pit.

Smith Building Specialties was the provider of the products for our project to replace the original windows and doors in a 40 year old home. Not only did they provide excellent advice and knowledge on different styles and brands of windows, doors and related hardware, they also connected us with a contractor, Island View Estates, to help us with the project. That connection turned out to be exceptional as our project went forward. Smith Building Specialties assisted us with the final order and delivered the materials promptly the day prior to the scheduled start of work. Could not be happier with the end result.

I am not happy with them at all. I still don't have my door. I will not do business w them again.

When we first starting looking at windows, we started at the big box stores.  One of them came and gave us a quote.  By looking around on the internet, we found Smith Building Speicalties and that they had an Andersen showroom, so we stopped by.  We met Natt who showed us the window options and was very knowledgeable about windows and the old homes in our area.  We asked about installation and he said he works with a few contractors, but he thought about one in particular.  We scheduled a time for him to come out and give us a quote.  He came out with the contractor to measure and get an idea on how installation would be.  He called us the next week for us to come in and we discussed the quote for the windows and the installation.  We were kind of surprised that the quote was competitive to the big box store, as we expected it to be a lot more expensive.  We decided to go with them and have been very happy with that decision.  Before the windows were ordered Natt and the contractor came out again to make sure they had good measurements and discussed possibilities with the installation.  They worked very well together. The windows came in and they coordinated with the contractor to get them to the house.  During installation, we found that some clips on one window were a different color than all of the others and it was very noticeable.  The contractor worked with Smith Building to get some new parts ordered and had them sent via Fed Ex.  The folks at Smith Building were very professional, knowledgeable, and local.  We felt that we got a much better overall product hiring our local folks than we would have going through a big box store.
