PANAMA ALTERNATOR & STARTER

Our alternator had worn out bearings, but functioned normally. Alternator rebuilding is something of a lost art yet very simple and in expensive when compared to the purchase of a new one. The local Chevrolet dealer, could not even get parts for the alternator, but offered to sell me one at the deal of $461 plus tax. None of the local auto parts stores I called had parts to rebuild an alternator either, and again the offered to sell me one ranging form $130, to $277; all I needed was the two bearings to put in it. I called Panama Alternator and starter, Shane answered and upon telling him the year and make of the truck, he spit out the bearing numbers and asked me to hold, when he came back he had checked the inventory to be sure I wouldn't waste the trip to their shop. When I arrived, I had brought a pulley that had a worn out bearing as well, Shane immediately recognized the bearing and had his brother Allen go check to see if it was in stock, it was. He then asked his Allen to ring me up, while I was paying what seemed to be an unbelievable low price, Shane took my pulley, pressed out the old bearing and installed the new one, and at no additional charge. Unbelievably I walked in and spent about $30, received amazing customer service and saved between $100 and $500 in parts I already had that simply needed to be repaired. Bottom line is this is a family owned business, with great customer service who are very helpful and pleasant to deal with. For anything to do with a alternator or starter I'm definitely going to them.
