Hired Paradise Solutions to repair a leaking shower drain. It was an urgent repair since it was slowly leaking into the apartment below. Turned out the shower pan was leaking so they tore out the bottom half of the shower and installed a new liner and drain. Finished up with a raised bed and finally tiled. The first issue we had was is that they used mastic for the tile adhesive. Mastic is not supposed to be used in constantly wet areas. We were told we can use the shower after setting 24 hours. The first time we used the shower, the mastic turned soft again causing a depression in the floor where water started pooling on the shower floor. The contractor agreed to return and tear out the entire floor again and this time I made sure they used thin set which is the proper adhesive for a shower. Note, this time a different person completed the re-tile work and I was not happy with the results. The tile was not sloped correctly to the drain. The front of the drain was 1/4 inch higher that the tile and the back of the drain was 1/8 higher than the tile, therefore causing water to pool up around the drain area before flowing into the drain. PROS: Contractor was reliable and showed up onsite on time each day and easy to reach via phone or text message. They understood the urgency of my repair and made every effort to accommodate my schedule and deadline. CONS: Contractor took advantage of my urgent situation and charged me 2-3 times the cost for this repair under normal circumstances and I had the added cost of hiring a plumber. Had to redo the tile work and still did not get it right. The tile floor wasn't sloped correctly to the drain causing pooling around the drain and some residual puddling on the shower floor.

Tom called 15 min after I contacted you. Set up a time and he was actually 15 minuets early. Was neat doing the job and finished within 1/2 hour and cleaned everything up before he left. Was very polite and am in the process of contracting him for another job. Thank you!!!
