Please ask around on the local pages before using this company. They are dishonest and a simple court records search in Bay County will show this. We still have not had our final inspection and had to pay additional money to have a lien removed because the owner doesn't pay the sub contractors/suppliers. There are several people with liens on the website who paid David in full. The office he has on 77 in Washington County is now in foreclosure. Communication with this guy is near impossible unless you threaten him with the Sheriff. There is too much to say in this short box. They cut our internet line didn't say anything, broke our sprinkler didn't say anything, buried our broken sprinkler pipes and all our sprinkler heads, dumped concrete in the yard, withheld equipment, warranties, the list goes on and on. It's construction, we didn't expect perfection, however, we didn't expect to be scammed out of money because people are afraid to stand up to this guy and speak the truth.

I highly recommend avoiding Home Paradise Pools and the owner, David Blackerby. In August 2023, we gave them a $20,000 deposit to begin construction on our pool with the understanding that work would start in March 2024. From the start, communication was awful. Our questions went unanswered, and we were left in the dark about the progress of the project. By early January, we decided to cancel because there had been no permits pulled and only a couple of renderings provided—no real progress. After canceling, we were left waiting for six weeks to receive any portion of our deposit back. When it finally arrived, we got only a $15,000 partial refund, with David Blackerby keeping $5,000. This is downright theft in our eyes, especially since no permits were pulled, and we were never given a copy of the contract. It's hard to believe we were expected to pay for essentially nothing. We definitely do not recommend this company to anyone. Save your money and avoid the stress!

It seemed my pool job got less priority than it should have gotten. Appointments were missed. Some details were overlooked.
All around the pool dirt was needed to fill in were they had done work. I had to do it myself. They forgot it was a salt pool and overlooked the need to add it.
The real issue here is that the liner kept coming off the top and sagging down in places. Looks cheap and unkept.
I've been in to see them and the first time they came on a Sat.  jumped in and used a kitchen knife to force the seam back in. David at HP said that's all you have to do. He said he would send someone with what was described as a wedge piece to completely fix it once and for all.
Well that didn't happed and from 2011 to this day the liner is in need of repair from the very people I paid $7800 to fix in the first place I got David's number from their website and called and left a message. He called me back and he said he remembered me but because they are no longer HP Pools ( they call themselves "Home Paradise Pools"  )
He was a somewhat rude to me as well when I said I needed it repaired
He said because of their name change, He can no longer honor any agreements to repair my pool. He then told me he would call back with a number for a guy who does that kind of work but I would need to pay him.
Beware and be very leery in dealing with Home Paradise Pools

Contract was signed and deposit given on May 8th, 2012.  After waiting on city permits, digging commenced on June 4th, 2012.  Due to weather this past summer, the pool was finished on September 3, 2012.  Mr. Blackerby and his Home Paradise employees were very courteous and professional during the entire process.  They kept me informed of each step and the unfortunate delays.  After the pool was completed, the owner (Mr. Blackerby) came out and personally ran me through the pump systems, deck jets, and cleaning process.  It has been 4 months since completion and I also use HP for my water testing and chemical needs.  I am exceptionally pleased with their service and would definitely recommend them without hesitation!

Overall it has been well except for the HP office manager.  In August we had extensive rain and we could not determine if the pool had been serviced.  My wife called HP and spoke to the person who called herself the office manager.  When my wife inquired about the service, the office manager was very defensive and rude, claiming the attending person had listed the pool as being serviced. She further went to say that she would cancel the service because she resented my wife's questions.  This is not a person who should be allowed to be in contact with customers.  Subsequently I discussed this issue with the company owner and he resolved the issue.

Outstanding. See story above...don't want to repeat myself. Be prepared to have you backyard look like a construction site...cause it is. Don't make a decision on builder based on our quickly they are going to build it. Spring and Summer months are the busyest so expect it to take longer. It is going to take between 4 and 8 weeks; plan for the longer. Recommend having it built in the Fall or Winter when the price might be better negotiated and time is not a factor.
