We arrived at our beach house to find that the post on the corner of the porch was supported only by a cabbage palm.  The water from the gutter and outdoor shower had pooled and caused the post to rot.  After we got over the shock, Jeff redesigned the screened porch and deck with correct footings.  Instead of step downs from house to porch to deck, we now have flooring on one level. Using six inch posts instead of four by fours allows a better and uncluttered view of the ocean. The outdoor shower has a river rock floor, which helps with the water drainage, and the down spout is connected to a french drain.. He added more space to the outer deck by placing the "sand washing station" conveniently near the benches.The benches are connected to the walk out and do not take space from the lower deck. Placing the water station near the walk out helps reduce the sand from being walked onto the screened porch and into the house.We love our new outdoor area and feel fortunate that we found this contractor.
