Slik Crete Intl LLC, Richard (Dave) Bailey – Unethical Contractor Slik Crete/Dave Bailey (also goes by the following aliases: Slik Crete Intl LLC, William Richard Bailey, William R Jr Bailey) was hired to do a terrazzo restoration repair on my primary residence. As per Mr. Bailey’s written requirements, he was paid $7,000 up front for the services before he started. The Terrazzo Floor Restoration was supposed to be a 4 day job which dragged into 10 days with no end in sight of completion before Mr. Bailey walked off the job. The issues at hand concerning Mr. Bailey’s poor performance include: 1. Work Not Performed: a. No one room in the house was completed; in fact some rooms were never started. b. Corner and edging work was not completed in all rooms. c. Stains were not treated. d. Scheduled work commitments were not honored. 2. Poor Workmanship & Quality: a. The patches repaired were worse than the originals, same situation with the floor cracks. b. Sealant was applied over unclean surfaces which resulted in stripes, shadows and streaks in the floor. c. Floor was not evenly grinded and polished resulting in burned spots and shadows. d. Kitchen crack was simply opened up and filled with caulking thus appearing much worse than before. 3. Damages Incurred: a. Property damages were incurred as direct result of Mr. Bailey’s workmanship (broken front window, cracked toilet base, all aluminum sliders were burned by over polishing). b. 30 Year Labor Warranty was not honored. Entire project had to be redone from scratch. There were many attempts to resolve the situation with Mr. Bailey in a peaceful manner. 1. A Sarasota Small Claims Case was filed and the judge awarded plaintiff full damages of the maximum of $8000. 2. The judgement award by Sarasota Civil Court is now in the hands of a Debt Collection Agency. We paid top notch money for a Terrazzo Restoration job, and expected to receive it. Several bids for repairing the work were solicited after Mr. Bailey walked off the job and each contractor said it was so bad that it had to be redone from scratch. My damages to repair the incomplete and poor quality workmanship exceeded $9000. Beware before doing any business with this company or person. There are numerous judgements in Manatee and Sarasota Small Claims court against him.

I inherited a house that had been used as a residence and an animal shelter for 50 years.  I could not get the floors clean, but because the base flooring was concrete I started investigating the available options I had for flooring and found theses guys.  As you can see from their address they are based in Sarasota, I have a house in Lakeland, FL.  They were there by 9:00am everyday, which is quite a ride.  I used a 'walnut' stain for the concrete and it came out beautifully.  They polish the concrete a number of times (I didn't count) and it shines beautifully.  I couldn't be happier, worth every penny of $6,000.00 for a 1,180 sq. ft. home.  It looks and feels like brown marble.  What a difference a floor makes.  I love my house, now that I can sit on the floor!
