Furniture - Sales, Cabinet Making
Space for cabinet was measured and price was quoted for wood cabinet with shelves, painted white. When cabinet was delivered, it was made from pressboard with unpainted/unfinished edges. None of the nail holes were filled. Did not accept: it was taken back to the shop and redelivered a few days later. Shelves were still made of pressboard and he argued with me that THAT was what we had ordered. Though the space was (supposedly) carefully measured, the new cabinet is about 3 inches deeper than it was supposed to be and exposes an unfinished edge of the vanity. What was delivered was much more like something "grandpa built in the basement" than a "fine elegant cabinet." Cornice moulding was not flush to ceiling and was not of the quality I was promised: the mitre did not even meet at the edges, it was just glued (badly) onto the cabinet.
