Michelle has been with us for over 4 years. We travel several times a year and it is vital we have peace of mind our family members are well cared for and treated lovingly in our absence. Also invaluable is Michelle's flexibility and dependability. She has never said no. Though we try to be respectful and schedule as far ahead as possible, sometimes we've planned last-minute getaways and Michelle has always been there for us. We have a complicated set-up. We have five pampered indoor cats. We want our kitties to be let outside into our cat-fence enclosed yard each visit and for them to be played with, in addition to the usual petsitting duties. Michelle showers our kitties with attention and affection. She is intuitive and caring. For instance, on our most recent trip, Michelle realized the newest adoptee needed extra attention as she was struggling to be accepted by the other cats and, as a result, spent more time with her. Where Michelle's love of animals has really shone is in her willingness to care for our outdoor cats. Over the years we've had varying numbers of outdoor feral cats (that have been tnr'd, of course --trap-neutered-returned) that needed to be fed each morning and night. At one point we even had two different feeding locations at our home -we asked that she feed a timid cat on one side of the house and the remaining cats on the other side of the house. We asked that she wash her hands before taking care of the indoor cats. We asked that she feed the outdoor cats a separate food from the indoor cats, etc. You get the picture... It was a lot to ask of someone!! Not only was Michelle happy to oblige, she told me not to pay her extra for this task!! She saw that I was doing it as an act of charity to help community cats (aka stray cats) and she wanted to contribute to this effort. How revealing! Michelle truly loves animals and wants the best for them. Now, that is the type of person you want to leave your loved animals with!! Though I do ask that readers of this review not ask Michelle to care for their community cats without reimbursal--- Michelle had been with us for a while and saw I was dealing with a situation created by a neighbor afflicted with Alzheimers who had been feeding stray cats without doing tnr. Michelle really gets to know your cats and understands their unique personalities. She has a way with cats, even my most shy boy loves Michelle. We had a very timid semi-feral outdoor cat that allowed Michelle to pet her. That amazed us as she had just begun to let me pet her after much patient coaxing. I really can't say enough positive things about Michelle. She is excellent at what she does!

I wish I had all day to tell you how wonderful Michelle is. She is a very loving person who is dedicated to caring for your animal. We went on a cruise and Michelle took such wonderful care of our pooch. I don’t think the dog even missed us. She sent pictures and videos. Michelle is great with my animals—whether it is regularly walking my dog every week to caring for my cats when I travel, she is flexible and responsive to any of my needs. I keep her guessing since I also have foster dogs who need care when they are with me. Michelle is wonderful with all of them, she gets amazing photos of the animals which I can use on FB to get them permanent homes. My dog loves her and enjoys his walks. As someone with a constantly changing schedule, Michelle helps me give my animals the best possible care—she will do the same for you!

I've been using this service for over year for regular dog walking while I was at work and it's been great. My dog can be difficult with strangers but he took to Michelle instantly. He looks forward to her visits every day. I know I can rely on her and I like that she posts pictures sometimes on Facebook. Around Thanksgiving my dog had a very serious surgery and had a difficult recovery. I had to go away on a business trip two weeks later and was very anxious about leaving him alone. Michelle stayed overnight at my house so he was not alone at night. It was such a relief to know that she was with him. She's really good at communicating with you, so you know how things are going. I will definitely opt for that again the next time I go away. Thanks Michelle!

Upon the initial meeting she didn't seem too excited to be around my dog. She was not wanting to take my dog in it's carrier. She wanted to just have them loose in the car or with a leash. We did not use them again. She just seemed like she did not have experience with animal care.

Michelle is a true blessing and her passion for caring for animals is evident. I didn't know how I was going to replace our previous pet sitter, who was adored and my cats were very used to ...big shoes to fill. I had been trying to find a new one to no avail and was feline a bit down when she returned my call while I was on the phone with yet another pet sitter, who was unable to help me but was referring Michelle to me at that very same moment. Okay no coincidence. From the moment she walked in promptly for our initial visit, her heart and desire to meet my indoor and outdoor cats, aka my furry cat children, were quite evident and a breath of fresh air. That sealed the deal and I knew she was the one. Michelle is thorough, professional, friendly, conscientious, very communicative and truly cares about the well being of my cats. She is eager to understand your and their needs in detail so she can provide you with her best. About two years ago, a feral momma cat and her kittens began hanging around. When it became apparent no one was going to do anything, I had them trapped, neutered/spayed, returned (TNR) and began caring for and feeding them. Now thankfully, we have Michelle to pick up where my previous sitter left off and assist with them when we can't be here. I worry a bit about my cats, especially my outdoor cats, when we are away; yet Michelle provides text updates, pics and reassurance putting my mind at ease. Just recently she made time to chat with me on the phone as I was in need of some guidance and cat advice. The outdoor cats are getting accustomed to her and a few are actually rubbing up against her hand and I have no doubt she will win them all over before long. Gigi, my indoor cat, is shy but has allowed Michelle to play and pet her. We use her often and the peace she brings me in leaving our house and beloved cats in trustworthy, capable hands and the TLC she gives my furry children is priceless! As I paws and reflect, there really is no way to adequately describe her heart and the warmth she radiates, you just have to experience it for yourself and I recommend you do!

I first met Michelle in my home for a pre-visit interview, paperwork and to meet our “girls”. She was prompt, extremely thorough, professional, friendly, easy to talk to, and genuinely cared about our pet's well being. She even offered to water the plants and collect the mail! She also sends pictures and video updates via text or Facebook. It's a huge weight off my shoulders to know Sophie and Kitty-Girl are in good hands and to see how happy they are while being cared for in the comfort of their own home. Michelle takes great pride in her business. She invests a tremendous amount of time and energy into making people's pets happy while we owners are away. Michelle also texts to make sure we got home safely and that our cats don't need an extra day of care. My dog really seems to like her.  She is reliable and communicates well with me.  She is responsive to changes in my schedule (either more or less services needed).  

I was recovering from surgery and unable to walk my lab-retriever mix. Michelle Kehm, the owner of the business, walked my 15 year old dog for me. Ms. Kehm was professional and responsive from my initial contact with her through the completion of services. She is reliable, friendly and was great with my dog. She is also good with humans and I enjoyed getting to know her during the 2 weeks she helped me out. I will gladly use her services in the future as the need arises.

Michelle is not only friendly and warm with her clients; but more importantly, with their pets. We were very hesitant to have someone in our home, as we were first time pet sitting clients. Michelle logged her visits, shared pics of our puppies, and texted us each time she came and went from our home. I am grateful to have found Smooch Your Pooch because my puppies were so happy. clearly evident that Michelle gave them plenty of smoochies. We are so happy we found Michelle.  Eight months ago we received our new puppy.  Since we both work, Michelle comes to our home twice a day, each week, to check on and walk our puppy.  Michelle always lets me know if she notices something about our puppy that I should be made aware of.  She also texts pictures so I can see how our puppy is doing.  Our little puppy simply ADORES Michelle and we are very appreciative of the kindness and excellent care Michelle gives our puppy when we are away at work.  I know that once we return home at the end of the day, our puppy is comfortable and has been well cared for while we have been away. Michelle has played an important roll in our puppy's development and well being and I highly recommend her!

When my daughter and I decided to go on vacation, I needed someone to take care of my three cats. I found several qualified pet sitters on Angie's List and made some calls. Although I had several sitters lined up to interview, as soon as Michelle walked into my home, I knew she was the perfect choice. One of my cats is very shy and rarely comes out to meet anyone. Michelle coaxed her out of hiding and was petting her in just a few minutes! This was the first time I left my cats in the care of someone other than a family member or friend, so although I knew I made a good choice with Michelle, I was still a little nervous. That ended very quickly when I got a text and pictures/videos of my cats from Michelle every day advising me that all was well. I arrived home this evening after a week away to three very happy, contented cats! Thank you, Michelle!

I cannot say enough positive things about Michelle and Smooch Your Pooch pet sitting service. Michelle has taken care of my dog many times in the past, with the experienced loving care you hope for in a pet sitter, but this was the first time I had left my dog for an extended period of time. My dog Brett has a chronic illness that requires special needs and care. Michelle came twice a day and stayed overnight every night. She sent regular updates and pictures while we were away. What I saw was a dog with a huge smile on his face! Michelle is one of the most loving people I have met in a long time. My dog adores her, and so do I. This is the absolute best pet sitter in the area. Michelle is the most responsible, loving, caring, and professional of pet sitters. We are never worried about our pets when out of town- they are always in the best hands with her. Always available- super flexible with our changing plans. Goes the extra mile, and with love.

I finally found a pet sitter who gets it. These little creatures are our children. We adore them and want only the most attentive and loving care for them. Plus, we are very picky about our house and make requests such as shoes please be removed upon entry. Michelle enthusiastically agreed to all our instructions and requests. In the past, I felt awkward about having such a complicated list of instructions. Not with Michelle---- she has such a great positive attitude. She made me feel comfortable; she understood that this was a big deal for us. Instead of begrudging acceptance of our hugely long list of instructions, she embraced all of the detailed instructions.

Whereas in the past I felt a little embarrassed in leaving out notes for the pet sitter around the house, Michelle actually requested food be labeled in her handout she gives clients. I felt she was a kindred spirit who instead of resenting picky clients, actually understood that I was picky because of how much I cared about my fur family and my home. We are very demanding in that we have, compared with most people, a very complicated set-up for our cats. We need them to be let outside into our cat fence-enclosed backyard on each visit. Then we need them brought back in- not always an easy task for kitties having fun outside.

We ask that the pet sitter stay at our home for a length of time so the cats can have their outside time. We have a stray cat that we feed each morning (I have tried to tnr him but he has proved elusive thus far). Even feeding instructions are complicated: we feed our cats wet food twice a day and also leave out dry food. Well, you get the idea… We aren't easy!!

Michelle actually plays with our cats. Though my former pet sitter had been with us for years (continued to use despite many problems due to misguided loyalty) my shyer cats were still wary of her. Not with Michelle! From the very first get -acquainted- visit my shyest cat bonded with her. Animals are sensitive and intelligent- they know who genuinely cares about them. Not only are we sent updates, we are sent lovely photos of the cats-- and we didn't even request this! How refreshing!! We have used Michelle twice now and my cats seem so peaceful and content when I return. I can relax and know that not only are my cats being well-cared for, they are actually having fun with someone who is playing with them and petting them. I also feel a sense of peace in knowing that my home is being treated with respect.

Michelle is very conscientious and is really concerned about doing everything and quot;right.and quot; She is detail-oriented. When entrusting one's home and babies to someone, one doesn't want someone with a cavalier or even laid-back attitude--- you want someone who will be truly focused on trying to do their best. Michelle is energetic, has a loving attitude toward my babies, and is very on-point.

Do you know how sometimes you meet someone and you can't explain it, but you know this person is someone you can trust? Well, that was my experience with Michelle from Smooch Your Pooch. She came for an interview right after I booked my first visit. She got all the information about my dog and gave me a lot of info about herself. I was extremely impressed. She is even qualified to do pet CPR. I booked a visit for Thanksgiving day, as we were going to be away the entire day.

When I came home that evening, Michelle had left me updates and had also sent me pictures on my cell phone of her time with my boy Brett. I, like most pet owners, am very particular about who takes care of my dog. She did a wonderful job and my dog was as happy as a clam when I returned. She spent time with him, walked him, and played with him while we were gone. All I know is I got a couple of pictures on my phone with a very happy smiling dog. I would highly recommend Michelle and Smooch Your pooch. I have already booked her for my vacation in 2015!
