Ā + -1 moreThis silver plated family heirloom has rested in a box for a long time for two reasons: the top was broken off from the bottom part and it was a three-hour long job to remove the tarnish and polish it. After calling John on the phone, we took the silver plated piece to him. He indicated the heirloom could be repaired and, further, that luster protection could be applied, so it would not have to be polished ever again. His price was more than fair and he also indicated some negative aspects of applying the luster protection. The work was completed in 10 days and the result was outstanding. Restorers of silver plated items are hard to find and John cares about the quality of his work. We highly recommend him.
Description of Work: Repair and apply luster protection to a silver plated family heirloom (100 years + old).

Ā + -1 moreHE BROUGHT THE ESTIMATE DOWN TO $500 WHEN I TOLD HIM I THOUGHT THAT WAS TOO HIGH. HE'S PROBABLY GOOD FOR REGULAR LAMP REPAIRS BUT I WOULDN'T USE HIM FOR AN ANTIQUE JOB. HE SHOULD ALSO HAVE HIS OFFICE CLEAN. HE IS A VERY NICE PERSON, THOUGH.
Description of Work: He gave me an estimate of $799 for replacing the chains of antique metal light fixtures.
