"We are sorry that one of your members had a bad experience with our company, but we would like to clarify some of the facts. We are hired by the HOA to check the irrigation for all units one time per month. We are instructed to only repair heads or nozzles, nothing else. If anything else is detected such as bad timers, leaks, etc., we are to note them on a report that goes to the property manager. In this case, we attempted to turn on the timer and it would not turn on. We do not have the authority by the HOA to troubleshoot the problem at that time, only to note it on our report which is what we did. At that time, the property manager mails a notification to the resident and it is there responsibility to have it repaired. The resident chose to call an electrician instead of us to troubleshoot the problem. After the electrician told her that it was not an electrical problem, she called us to come out and look at it, which we did. At that point, we were being hired by her, not the HOA, to investigate the problem so it was a regular service call. Our office always informs customers of our rates including service call charges, materials and labor. We troubleshot the problem by first testing the electrical connection which was live so we knew that was good. It was determined that the timer was bad and we received approval by her to replace the timer. Once the timer was replaced and operating, we ran through the system and found a leak on one of the zones which she also authorized us to repair. Regarding the amount, she was charged for the cost of the timer plus labor to install it and repair the leak. She was NOT charged a service call. She also made mention in her review that we are on-site two to three days a week and did not agree with the service call charge. As stated above, she was NOT charged a service call. Additionally, our irrigation techs are only on-site once per month. Regarding the warranty and manual, they are provided online and we gave her the direct link. Lastly, she is correct regarding the key. Our technician made a honest mistake and forgot to leave the key to the new timer with her. When she called the office about it, we had it delivered in a timely manner."
