MD Granite Inc

This company was a no call no show for the first two measuring appointments. Finally, the owner showed, measured the kitchen, and took a considerable deposit. He directed us to a granite yard to pick our granite (the estimate indicated level 3 material). We picked level 1 material and called MD Granite 2 days later to inform them of our decision. The owner said he had to check his email and would call back in 10 minutes. I called him back 4 hours later and got his voice mail. About 15 minutes later, his office manager called and said was sending a revised estimate based on the granite we picked. I was expecting a price reduction. The salesman at the granite yard said we picked one of the cheapest on the lot. I was shocked to see the estimate had INCREASED $800.00 and indicated the increase was due to increased square footage over what I estimated. I have a Master's Degree in Business and my square footage estimates were already confirmed by other companies. After several hours, it became apparent the company was not answering my calls. Because of their behavior, I informed them in messages that I was getting very nervous about the large deposit I made. Finally, I drove to their office and sat there until someone heard me. Turned out the owner was hiding in the back. When he did emerge, he said I picked the wrong granite and incorrectly measured to countertop. When I asked to see his measurements, he refused. When I asked him what granite was less than level 1, he did not answer. After arguing for more than a half hour, he finally gave me my deposit  money back.
This company is extremely dishonest and cannot be counted on to even return a phone call.
