LPC Sod

The short story is that the owner of L.P.C. SOD Inc. in Palm Harbor Florida, stated 3 times that they would replace the diseased & now dead grass they installed on our lawn. They then charged us an additional $750.00 when we had already paid $3,500.00 for 14 pallets-installed in late May of 2015. What actually happened: We live in Palm Harbor, Florida & hired L.P.C. SOD Inc. on the corner of Alt 19 & Brevard St in Palm Harbor, to install our sod. We needed a total of 14 pallets of sod-approximately two-thirds for sun & the remaining sod for our shaded areas. The sod was installed in late May of 2015 & the shade GRASS WAS DEAD BY LATE JUNE-ONE MONTH LATER! (NOTE: We had already had it sprayed (by the lawn company suggested by L.P.C. SOD Inc.) as required & was told it had fungus.) The owner of L.P.C. SOD Inc. came to inspect our sod and even as he was getting out of his truck, he was saying "we'll take care of it Mr. -----, don't worry about a thing." L.P.C. SOD Inc. Owner said the sod would be replaced in November. He clearly was appalled at the condition of our sod & paid The LAWN DOCTOR to also come inspect it & respray it-they said it had Chinch bugs. Thankfully, the diseased problems didn't spread to our healthy 'sun grass'. In the meantime, we contracted with Massey Landscape Service to manage our lawn & shrubs. Our dead grass did begin growing, but never came back as beautiful as when it was installed. Early November my husband stopped in at L.P.C. SOD Inc. to see when they would be over to replace our sod & the owner of the company said they'd be right over and again assured my husband they'd take care of everything. Within days, MR. L.P.C. SOD Inc. OWNER stopped in at our house for a final visit and for the 3'rd time, assured my husband, they would replace our lawn & the installers we're there that day, with 2 pallets of sod, not the five needed!?! My husband drove back to L.P.C. SOD Inc. to talk with the owner as not even two hours earlier he had stated he'd take care of everything. He finally admitted since our damaged sod looked "good", he wasn't replacing all the shade grass. If we wanted the bad/damaged grass-replaced, it would cost us an additional $800.00!! Of course we wanted it replaced as it looked horrible! When the owners son brought us the bill, they did give us $50.00 off so we ended up paying $750.00. Just a note to future homeowners who need sod, THE OWNERS SON STATED THEY NEVER GUARANTEE THEIR SOD. We paid the "NO CHARGE" fee of $750.00 in November, after the reinstallation & are most unhappy that we had to pay when we were told otherwise. NOTE: The sod installers were very good at their job of installing our sod, we we're most happy with their work. Thank you ~ January 25, 2016
