They looked it over and told me none of the camera's operations had been harmed and the speck of sand I saw would never show up in a picture. Bottom line, nothing was wrong with my camera and $0.00 charge. They also informed me it was a good camera with an excellent lens. They were very friendly and professional. I will definitely check with them again when (I think) I need repairs or to purchase equipment.

The providers were very nice, courteous, very knowledgeable. They removed a lens filter from my camera that had broken and i could not get to come off. They explained that happens quite often and therefore it is a good idea to keep a filter on the lens, so that it would take the impact (vs breaking the expensive lens). They did not charge me to do that work. I explained that i am a beginner and was taking a photo 101 course. They printed out some instructions that helped me understand the various settings on my camera. My only complaint is that they then sold me a $99 lens filter. Being a novice photographer, I did not realize that was a much more professional filter than i need as a beginner and that was almost as much as i paid for the lens itself. They were kind enough to let me return the filter with no restocking fee the next day after my husband purchased a much less expensive filter from a competitor. i think this photography company is more for serious professionals and they carry mostly high-end equipment.

My camera wouldn't open and didn't recharge on the charger. Took the camera in to Lake Shore where they checked out the charger, power supply and battery. They determined that the battery was dead and could not be recharged. They installed a new battery. When I tried to charge the new battery I got a and quot;Charge errorand quot; message. I contacted Lake Shore and Gregg told me to come back. and quot;We'll get to the bottom of it.and quot;, he said. And he did! Camera, battery and charger all work fine now. The only charge was for the cost of the new battery. No charge for all of the diagnostics and remediation.

They treated us like we were family and didn't rush us once. They are one of the few places that still do film development as well. This kind of service is hard to come by and we were extremely impressed.

I called and spoke to a very nice gentleman (David, I think) and I informed him of the issue I was having. He told me I would need to bring the camera in so they could take a look at it, but it sounded like my mirror was not dropping into place. I brought the camera in and was helped right away by the owner, Gregg. He was awesome. He took a look at my camera and instantly identified what the problem was; the mirror was locked into place. This was just what the guy on the phone said he thought it was. He quoted me $300 to replace a broken mirror, but if I was ok with him trying to pop it out of its locked position then he would try. I figured I had nothing to lose since it was not working anyway. He really knows his stuff because he was able to pop it out and now it works fine. He didn't charge me anything for looking at and tending to it. He also informed me about the photography classes his wife offers. All around excellent customer service. I pray that I never have another issue with my camera, but I know I will and when I do, I will be returning to this business. I am a very satisfied customer!
