It was good. It was from a referral of a friend so I partially knew the person already. He was very thorough and professional. He made me feel like he was working for me to make sure that they will cover any problems with the property I was looking at.

He's done 2 home inspections for us and he saved us from a disaster on our first house because of his dedication to the job!
Though each time the general inspection cost about $400-$450 we would highly recommend Kevin Koplar as a home inspector.
* He is ASHI certified (http://www.ashi.org).
He didn't just put in the money to buy an inspector's license.
*He has been a home inspector for 15+ years
*He has a background in engineering so he is able to spot structural problems and let you know if you need to get a structural engineer
* He is THOROUGH (Each inspection took about 3.5-4.5 hours).
- He goes up on the roof
- He goes into the crawl space
- He goes into the attic
- His inspection reports range (at least for us) from 37-45pages, with pictures included. So you really know what is going on with your house and you can know what is going on with your house. These reports are also VERY helpful to take back to the person who is selling the house when repairs OR negotiation is necessary
* He is able to recommend further inspections (though this might cost more up front to get others out there -- you won't be out of luck when you have termite damage or when your septic tank needs to be replaced AFTER you move in).
* He is willing to answer questions throughout the inspection process about codes, maintenance, etc.
If you're going to hire Koplar Consulting, make sure to make time to learn a lot about your potential house. There might be things that you wish Kevin wouldn't find, but his commitment to the job and thorough inspections are worth it!!
