About us
Originally from Long Island, NY, my wife, Nancy, and I moved to the Tampa Bay area and have lived here for over 30 years. Together we raised our two sons who are now grown and enjoying their lives. The concept for this business began 25 years ago, and now with our children living in other parts of the country, we have established Home Services, etc… My desire is to help people in the community by giving them Peace of Mind while they are traveling and away from their Florida homes. Having traveled extensively, I know what it is like being away from home for an extended period of time and not knowing if everything is OK back home. Is my pool pump working, or do I need to have the exterminator come in for a special unscheduled service? Is a pipe broken under a sink causing a small leak, or did my A/C freeze up? Just as concerning, did my home survive the last hurricane without any damage? It is these questions and questions like them that have led me to create Home Services, etc. and to give people comfort knowing that their houses and condominiums are being taken care of on a regular schedule. How nice it is for you to be able to call someone in advance to shop for you and stock your home with the basic food needs so they are there waiting for you when you arrive back to your Florida home. Home Services, etc. has been created with the intention of helping our neighbors by giving them Peace of Mind and making sure they’re in touch with what’s going on in their homes while away. My Peace of Mind is knowing I’m helping you and others who are seasonal residents. My goal is to help you feel more comfortable and worry free.

From our initial enquiry, Home Services Etc were friendly, responsive & professional understanding exactly what we needed them to do.
They performed exactly what we requested & more and gave us regular updates, along with photographic support/back up.
All further queries by me, were responded to within good time and costs were very reasonable. The price we were quoted was the price we paid, with no "extra" add ons.

The service that Richard provided was super. He did everything that he promised. His follow-up emails with attached pictures were complete and clear. He even noticed one of our finicky small lights that we had to light a palm tree was still on during the day. It completely put us at ease, knowing that he was checking on the exterior of our home. We will definitely use Richard for our next vacation. His price for us was fair, adjusting his cost due to having the exterior checks only this time. He even provided transportation to and from the airport (separate charge), which was extremely convenient for us. We found Richard to be professional, prompt, and trustworthy, and very personable.

What I am most impressed with is Richard's willingness to go above and beyond what is expected of him. For example, my 91 year old mother has difficulty handling her luggage. Richard is willing to come in and carry her luggage to the car, help her with the door, and make sure she is safely inside the car. At the airport, he gets her as close as possible to the curb and makes sure her luggage is given to one of the baggage handlers before he leaves. One particularly busy day, when the airport was packed with travelers, Richard parked his car in short term parking and came back to assist Mom. He was concerned that she would be overwhelmed by the crowds and not get proper attention. He stayed with her until her luggage was checked, she was in her requested wheel chair and on her way to the gate. She would have missed her flight without his assistance.
It's the thoughtful gestures like this that set Richard above the rest. After many years of rides, I value his work ethic, his thoughtfulness, and honesty. I would highly recommend him for any type of assistance you might need.
We pay $50 per visit for monthly monitoring. We recently had Richard meet someone at the condo so they could deliver flooring materials in our absence and he charged $20, which I thought was very reasonable. Because he lives in the area, he is available on short notice to take care of issues such as these. He is very flexible, as well, when it comes to setting up a schedule of times and dates for visits.
