"We started this exterior job on a large 3 story house as scheduled. Job was located on Wood Ibis; the [Member Information Removed] address belongs to the real estate agent not the customer. The pressure cleaning was finished and we started repair work. It had been many years since the house had been painted; it was covered with mildew and algae which took much time and effort to remove. The old paint was failing very badly. Our proposals state that a deposit is needed when actual work has been started. The customer did not want to make any deposit and told us "NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT". We continued to work on repairs when a neighbor walked up to us and said that this customer did not pay their contractors. With this information and the refusal to honor the deposit we decided to cut our losses and stop the job."
