Description of Work: tear down of walls, insertion of t beams, built archway between rooms, built hallway closets

Description of Work: Remodel of Kitchen. The construction portion entailed removing a section of wall to eliminate a wall oven and matching to existing wall/soffitt and modifying another wall to partially enclose refrigerator for a counter depth appearance. Mechanical work included electrical modifications for all appliances, including changing a wall oven & cooktop to a freestanding double-oven range, electrical and water lines for revised refrigerator location, relocated microwave/fan hood, replacing water valves (so they actually turn off) and adding connections for dishwasher and a disposal with in-counter air switch so the room has all the "modern conveniences" (they even suggested adding a few outlets at the counter -- a great idea to re-use old circuits). Cabinets were coordinated with the supplier, picked up, assembled and installed with creative on-the-spot "custom" solutions for tweaking the design using crown molding and decorative trim. They also purchased the granite for counters & 18" back splash and coordinated installation by a separate subcontractor. Last but not least, all the new energy efficient appliances and lighting were installed. The end result was a vastly improved layout and much larger 21st Century kitchen. Cost included all cabinets, granite construction materials and labor (excluded were granite installation and my cost of pre-purchased appliances, lighting, faucet and cabinet handles, and electrical outlets/cover plates). The painting and flooring were not part of this job since they'll be part of a future project in the entire open plan layout.
