Apex Pool Service

Our pool is under a very large oak tree that can really affect the chemistry at certain times of the year. Apex Pools does a great job of knowing what the pool needs at different times of the year. Over the past two years, Mr. Hovey has helped educate us on pool maintenance and has been very responsive to our calls, should we have any questions or concerns.

Craig has provided weekly maintenance on our pool for 6 years. He is knowledgeable and prompt as well as being available (within phone's reach) at all times. He never hesitates to return my call if I need him for anything.

We were told exactly what would be done each week by the owner of the company. He aid he had one of his people that he said was his best and would recommend. By the 2nd week algae was beginning to appear in places. We told the pool tech about it when he came, however the problem continued.

We came out on Saturday morning to find that the pool was green all over the sides and steps, and algae had formed all over. We had to run out right away and buy shock for the water and clean it us as we were haviung guests that afternoon. We have a Navigator pool vacume that runs 24/7 and we skim it regularly and keep it quite clean. So there is never any excuse for a pool turning green when you have hired and service to have the chemicals tested, etc. It obviously was not being done properly and I called the owner to tell him that we were not satisfied and would be switching pool services. The owner tried to give a fairly lame excuse as to why it might have turned green. I have owned pools long enough to know better and that there is never a good excuse for allowing a pool to turn green....regardless of the time of year...or if there is more pollen in the air. The chemicals should always be adjusted accordingly to prevent something like this from happening. He PLEADED for us to give them another chance and he would send out a different person whom he swore would do a better job. He said he wanted us to be happy. In the meantime he said he would send someone over right away to havew them put an additive in the water until the new person started the following week. So we gave him the benifit of the doubt and said we would give him another chance, however no one ever showed up as promised. I called the owner and left another message to please call back...and never heard from him. When he was called today to find out what was going on, he was extremely rude and said he was going to 'drop us' from his customers...even after he begged us to give him another chance. Not only is this service unreliable...but the owner obviously does not respect the customer enough to do as they promise or show politeness. I feel duped and I would never recommend this service to anyone under the circumstances.

Their price is good. They have been pretty reliable and have a good understanding of our equipment. We are giving them a second chance because they had a bad worker but got rid of him and replaced him with other great people. The people coming out now are reliable. Before the worker who wasn't doing his job didn't understand our equipment, couldn't tell me if someone was wrong, and couldn't help me out. But like I said we are giving them a second chance and they are fixed the problem worker. I think they are going to be able to respond more appropriately without that problem worker.

Very positive experience. Craig and his team always take care of whatever needs to be done, and point out any potential problems before the become actual ones.

They always show up on time. They do good work. If I have a problem, I will call and they will respond to my call that same day. They are a very reliable company.

They are good so far. My pool is clean. They come once a week. They have been very good. My pool has been perfect all year so obviously they are doing something right.

My overall experience was good for May 06 service call, I was disappointed Craig didn't put the second cleaning head in, but my mean concern was Craig sent my boys(age 9 and 12) to the pool to do the work for him without asking me first. I called on Aug 10th 06 at 10AM to set up a service call to finish the job, his wife told me she'll call me back in one to two hours, I told her my pool is not circulating well and it's a little green. Until 4PM, I called her again and left a message on the recorder, next day I called three times, each time I got the recorder, until now midnight Aug 11th, I still haven't heard from her...
