Boy was I surprised when this wonderful guy finished his work and I asked him if he minded if I listed him on Angie's List and he told me he was already listed!
My husband had already gotten his business card from a local TV guy he's known for many years. Dean Lopes came today to do the work we needed and I was so pleased and impressed with him.
To be honest, before my husband's abusive ex-wife left the home she did as much damage as she could possibly do, including pulling apart and ripping away all the carefully-installed wires behind the bedroom, wall-mounted 62" TV. He had had installed a very expensive and high-tech surveillance system with cameras all around the house which could be viewed on the TV. She left behind only a massive pile of wires globbed together on the floor. It was impossible to know how to reinstall the system.
In addition to the wire mess and the surveillance system, I had purchased an expensive high-tech headset for the TV so that I could stay up all night watching TV and not keep my husband up with all the noise of the TV. I was proud of myself that I had installed it, but it was clearly not working as no sound came from it, so it needed to be installed properly.
The house had to be painted twice because she intentionally smoked inside the house. I couldn't live here because the smoke gave me headaches. But there were speakers in the living room for surround sound from the TV and Bose music system. When the painters removed them to paint, they never put them back. So they needed to be re-installed. They were very challenging to re-install so Dean had to be very knowledgeable and creative to figure out how to get them back up and functional. But he did it and with great skill. He had to drill new holes and the wires were too short to reconnect. He used many diverse skills to finally make it work, but the speakers are perfect now.
I had one last job for him before he left. The ex had also tossed away the remotes for the electronic garage door. I had managed to call around until I finally was able to buy new remotes, but I had no way to install them. Luckily, Dean took on the challenge and his skills brought him to perfection once again.
I was tremendously impressed and pleased both with him personally and professionally. Had I waved a magic wand, I couldn't have found anyone more perfect to fulfill our needs today. I asked for his cards so I can share him with others and was surprised to find out that his wife owns a day spa and that he is also a song writer, singer, musician. He gave me cards for these services, as well.
I am adding him to the list of really talented and exceptional people I know and who I will call upon again when the needs arise.
Besides all of this, he was so courteous, conscientious, pleasant, and respectful that he made us feel very comfortable. He worked very hard and was here much longer than I would have expected for the very reasonable fee he charged us of $275.30. I sure would recommend him to anyone who needs the services he provides. I just got lucky since I took the recommendation from a friend before going to Angie's List.
