"I’m surprised at [member name removed] review. It is always our goal to do a professional job for all of our customers as all of our other Angie’s List reviews show. [member name removed] seemed very happy with our service when we were there. She had quite a list of items to be addressed and I was able to accomplish all of them even though her home was a “quad” which generally speaking has limited access for the wiring. I always like to clean up after myself but [member name removed] was cleaning up some before I could even get to it. She also seemed like the handy type and kept me moving along. When I start to feel a little rushed, I don’t like to stay on a job any longer than necessary to help keep the cost down. [member name removed] called me back to help attach a flat screen TV bracket to a brick wall after a handyman didn’t do it to her liking. She did not express any dissatisfaction with my prior work at that time, and yes I billed for my work. In fact when she called our office she said she would happily pay for us to come by and take care of this even though this wasn’t exactly electrical work, but she knew we carried a complete line of tools that could get this job done. As nice as many of my customers are (and we like and appreciate our nice customers), I have to bill for my time. If I didn’t bill my nice customers our company would go broke. Had [member name removed] expressed her dissatisfaction earlier and mentioned that she didn’t feel I had completely finished the work as she would have desired I would have happily done whatever she needed. [member name removed] seemed like a very nice person, and until receiving this review six months after the work was done, we thought she was another satisfied customer. We always strive for complete customer satisfaction. Our business has survived for over twenty years mostly with the help of word of mouth. Angie’s List is like an extension of that word of mouth and has done us well also as our reviews show. You will even notice a review from a person for whom our office staff was able to troubleshoot their issue over the phone for no charge, which is a regular occurrence at our office. With our twenty plus years of track record and our other reviews, we feel this is an unfair review of our work."
My microwave tripped a breaker every time I used it with the kitchen lights on. Mike explained that it had originally be wired for just an exhaust fan over the stove. He replaced the breaker and now microwave, and kitchen lights all work together.
I had one wall light switch that was put in upside down, so whenever I wanted to turn it on and slide the dimmer...I was confused because it was in a plate of 3 lights with 2 switches working properly. Mike fixed this with no problem.
The other problem was a couple of switches that would not work to power my patio lights and my patio ceiling fans. Again, Mike to the rescue and all is well now.
I had an old ceiling fan in my bedroom and wanted a new one installed. Mike took the old one down and replace it. I am now happy and cool.
Mike is professional and does a fabulous job. He shows up punctually and gets right to it.
I have used him before at other houses and will continue to rely on him when I have problems.
I panicked and tried calling around looking for an electrician. Because it was Sunday I was getting no where. Even the places that said 24/7 were not calling back. (One did call back many hours later after it was all running.)
I ended up calling A-1-American Electric even though it did not say they will come on Sundays. I spoke to Carol and told her my problem. She immediately said it sounded like it might be an FPL outage and suggested I check with the neighbors and see if they were out also. I did and they also had no A/C, no water, etc. So I called FPL and it was a transformer.
Carol had said if FPL was not the problem to call back and she would sent Mike out. Being 73 years old, the mind is not as swift as it once was and I had not even given it a thought that it might be an FPL problem. A-1-American Electric could have sent out an electrician and charged me extra because it was a Sunday. Instead they offered a solution that saved us money and got the transformer fixed in 4 hours.
It's not always easy to find honest and helpful people ... not to even mention she was the only one who even answered the phone!
The quality was excellent -- was expecting mess to clean up but there
wasn't any. Very professional -- I would definitely hire them again.
Mike came Thursday morning and installed the light kits. He had to do additional work to hook up the wires so that I could turn the lights on from a wall switch. He had to remove the whole ceiling fan to get at the wires.
Mike is knowledgeable, professional, personable and did a great job!!
I will contact him again when I need electrical work done.
Thank you Carol and Mike , Eva Roffe
