Tropical Dreams Renovation

During January 2020 and Again in July 2020 I purchase two sliding doors from Home Depot and Tropical Dreams Renovations installed both and, for one re-installed for leakage around the tap-cons screws. During the re-installation of one door during July 2020, I was informed that leakage was the result around the installation. Since then, during a hard rain, I have noticed excessive water pools around the bottom of both doors and this excessive water is beginning to seep under my bamboo floors. When contacting tropical dreams innovations afterwards, the only response that I received is the issue is due to leakage around the doors in lieu of leakage through the door drainage trough. I am now, at my expense, considering to obtain two new doors that are not manufactured by JELD-WEN through a different contractor as I need to stop this damage. Overall, my opinion is that Tropical Dreams Renovations work is of poor quality and I would not recommend this contractor for future residential or commercial rennovations.

I wrote a bad review (that I apparently can't go back and delete) discussing a long time delay. Once all that was behind us and they completed the job, they have proven to be a responsive and professional company. There was an issue that appeared later (there always are with such a big remodel) it was addressed quickly and correctly.

It is still early and I will revise my review as we proceed. If things get better my review will be better. If things get worse, my review will get worse. When you pay top dollar, you expect top work. They have been on the job for 2 1/2 weeks. Did most of the demolition quickly. Lost 2 days because of no work being done after they started. I'm in a condo community where hours are important but work never starts until after 10-11 and of course doesn't go past 4-5 so not many hours in the day. That's it so far, demolition. I know work cant proceed until the demo is inspected. No inspection because we hit a code issue. I Expected that and its fine EXCEPT, the delay should have taken 3-4 days. That's based on similar experience in the past. Has so far taken a week, and I expect another 3-4 days till its resolved. if its shorter, I will tell you. 3 days elapsed because they just couldn't get to it because they were too busy. Really? Maybe we can make the time up. Maybe not. My main concern is that the company has little regard for my schedule. It really isn't all about them you know.

Right now it's still a work in progress but I will write a final review with pictures as soon as it's done. So far it has been a positive experience.

Robert and his crew took our old 1970's kitchen down to the studs and reincarnated it into a modern, efficient workspace maximizing our view of the Atlantic that had sold us on the condo in the first place. He really listened to every idea we had, sent me pictures to help me envision his ideas, and made sure everything was completed to our satisfaction. And we are way beyond satisfied!

It went great. The workers always showed up when they said that they would, they always cleaned up at the end of the day, and the work was done perfectly.
Yes, there were some bumps along the way, but that is expected whenever you do renovations. When they were encountered, the company's owner, Robert, was quick to respond by telephone with a status of the situation, and was always professional in explaining what would need to be done to resolve the situation. If it involved extra costs, he was able to explain why it would have been impossible to know in advance about why that work was needed.
Additionally, they made some suggestions to avoid costly expenses in the future, like installing a second set of water pipes through the concrete floor to my stand alone kitchen island, to avoid having to tear open the floor in the future if the existing pipes ever need replaced.
Overall, the work was great and I would definitely use this company again.

Everything was excellent. They were calm, courteous, and very professional. They showed up on time and I would recommend them to others.
