Referred to me by a neighbor who I am sure will never refer him again. I should have known this was going to be a disaster when he put my dog door in backwards (the very first thing he did for me), but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He would start jobs and not finish them, he left a mess wherever he worked, such as thin-set all over my new doorknob and front door (he installed doorknob incorrectly, including not using all the screws needed and I kept getting locked in the house -- yes IN the house), moldings he removed left on floor with nails sticking up so either I or my dogs could impale our feet, gate unlocked so my dogs could run into the street, debris from cutting wood all over my driveway, and more, oh so much more. . . The worst of it was, he gutted my bathroom and started the remodel, and then didn't show up again, contact me or respond for over eight weeks, after leaving here one day when I did not want to discuss fencing my yard with him because a. he showed up without calling and woke me, and b. I didn't want yet another job started with my bathroom less than half done. The bathroom was a complete mess (as was the rest of my house), and I finally realized this was a blessing in disguise. He gave me an out. I didn't have to have him back, creating more of a mess. First I called a tle man, who had to rip out a substantial amount of tile because it was crooked. Then I called a plumber to hook up my fixtures, then bathroom walls were texturized, ceiling spackled and painted. I now have a new, very qualified, professional, skilled, LICENSED handyman trying to install doors on a closet he (he being the person I am reviewing) framed without having to rip the entire closet out as everything is crooked and the opening, instead of being a standard 24" is 23 1/8" at the top and 23 5/8" at the bottom. He left his tools all over the bathroom and my garage, and despite the fact that I have a huge basket full of rags in my garage, he turned some of my bath towels into rags. He should have asked, or brought his own rags. Also, while working in my garage, he moved things without paying attention and broke a stained glass window. Everything he did has to be corrected or ripped out or replaced, so everything he did cost me even more money as I had to purchase new materals, have what he did removed and then replaced. Also, he left my hose, not only uncoiled and laying near my driveway, but ON and it was leaking, which I did not know, for the eight weeks he didn't show up and I got a whopping water bill. I don't have the money for this! I am a disabled widow living on social security. The entire experience was a nightmare and I should have ended this much sooner than I did. He possess traits no one working in your house should possess. He is unskilled, not detail-oriented, messy, careless, doesn't understand priorities, has no sense of urgency, doesn't complete jobs and doesn't clean up after himself ever.
