They were here within an hour. I would use them again, and I would tell people about them.

My main HVAC unit stopped working in the middle of the day on Thursday, 28 July. I smelled an acrid burning odor about an hour earlier, but I couldn't find the source. The odor dissipated fairly quickly, and I figured I would find out what shorted soon enough. After checking the circuit breakers and trying the "Fan On" option, the unit remained unresponsive. The scheduler (I didn't catch her name) said that no one was available to come out on Thursday and offered to provide some numbers for other companies if I couldn't wait until Friday because of the heat. I was taken aback by such generosity. My parents highly recommended the company, so I said that I would wait. We scheduled an appointment between 12 and 2 for Friday, 29th July. Brian called about 1130 on Friday and was at my door within five minutes. He was very professional, personable, and efficient. He listened when I described the symptoms and what I had done to try to get the unit working again. Brian asked to see the thermostat and then went about troubleshooting the AC handler. After a few minutes, he said it looked like a burnt transformer. He replaced the transformer and got the unit working. He also checked the condenser and levels to confirm that they were satisfactory. We settled the bill and he headed out a little after 1200. Amazing! My house is cool again. Great job!

The compressor had finally died on my old unit and I needed to get several quotes and schedule an install as soon as possible.  I had received a quote the previous day from the A/C company that diagnosed the problem but I never settle on the first quote. I make sure I get at least 2 or 3 quotes to make sure I pick the right company and get the best price.   Ted (the Owner of Gale Winds) came out the same day that I called to get an estimate. I had called a third company that was supposed to come out the same evening between 5:00 and  8:00 pm but the estimator never called to say he couldn't make it; never showed up.  When I called the next day, the receptionist wanted to reschedule the appointment I said, "Sorry, already signed the contract with another company". Very unprofessional not to call or show up.  My husband and I rearranged our schedule to accommodate him.

Bottom line, Gale Winds Air & Heat is a straight forward, no hassle, local company that's been in business for over 30 years.  They don't advertise in some of the magazines that come out but rely on word of mouth and excellent customer service.  For hundreds less, I received the same equipment, same warranty but not the same "apples to apples" extras that I decided to add; received a new concrete pad for the equipment, a new 20 amp breaker that was required, a new digital thermostat, and (4) 3 ply panel filters that will last for up to 3 months! Also, make sure that the contractor file a permit with the City of Palm Bay, this required and should be noted on your contract.  If someone offers to install "next day", be wary!

Brian, the installer, came out on the scheduled day and on time. Professional, neat and answered any questions that I had.  The installation was perfect and he removed and hauled away all of the equipment.  I was so pleased that I tipped him and thanked him for his excellent work and knowledge. He knew what he was doing and is an excellent representation of this company.  Worked hard to get the job done and didn't leave any litter behind; you won't believe the contractors that I've had in the past that left empty soda cups and cigarette butts in my yard.

Bottom line, get a local company that wants to earn your business and that you know will come back if there is ever problem. I live in Palm Bay and keep my business in Palm Bay.  I plan on using Gale Winds Air & Heat to service and maintain my other 2 units as well as my brand new Tempstar :)  When the time comes to replace the others, I will not hestitate to call the family run business. Gale (the other Owner), is fabulous to deal with, handled all of the paperwork and even registered my new unit!  First class; give them a call, you'll be glad you did ?

We accepted and was back in about 5 days with new unit and all permits.
Install was done very professionally. Have use this business for 3 previous a/c installs and a few repair. Have also recommended him to some other people and they all have been very satisfied with his price and work.

They were easy to deal with. They were responsive and did a nice job. You had confidence in when you talked to them. Everything is working. Their pricing was very good. It was half the price of others. He came when he was supposed to.

I am satisfied with their services. I would use them again.

It went very well overall. We have not had the air and heat on very much so I don't know yet how it works but so far so good. They came out right away and did the work as promised. They were a lot cheaper than the first people we tried. They are about half the price and I was very happy but like I said, we have not had the air or heat on very much. They had come recommended by a friend and we were very happy with them.

Everything was done on a timeline established by us at the time we signed the contract. Their installation was on time and at the cost agreed upon. The work was done neatly and as described on the contract.

The coil looks fine now. They understood what my problem was so that was good. The guy came in on time, did the work, and was out pretty quickly. I will use them again in the future.

I called and explained that the air conditioning motor was running, but no cold air was coming out. The person on the phone said it was a good thing the motor was still running. She gave me an appointment time for the following day with an one hour window. The repairman was punctual and courteous. He discovered the problem, a very small leak in the freon hose. After completion of the work, I was given a detailed description of work performed and individual charges. I highly recommend the company.
