Choosing a moving company was a last minute decision, due to my work schedule. In selecting Family Moving, they offered the best rate and Availability to accommodate my schedule. My son told me all went well with the move (everything was unloaded into our new place). Upon my return home and after unpacking I discovered my 75 inch tv was ruined due to the weight of a heavy object. Both my tv?s were in boxes designed especially for transporting tv?s (padding), the movers somehow managed to drop something heavy enough to crack the screen on one side. Also, there was damage to a piece of art and a nasty dent in my trash can. Upon this discovery (Friday evening) I called to report the damage by leaving a message. I called back on Monday and spoke with a young lady who could NOT have cared any less about my concerns, she even stated how I signed an addendum which states items could be damaged in the move?and that comes with a move! With hesitancy she told me she would need to speak to the manager about it because I could have broken my tv when I moved it to storage. I asked what needed to be discussed? When it became obvious she had no intention of making a sincere effort to help, I stated ?you?re bonded and insured, right??, she stated they were licensed and insured. So I as isn?t the insurance for purposes such as this? Her demeanor quickly changed as she asked if I would like to file a claim. She then asked if I knew the weight of my tv because the they would only pay .60 per pound up to 200 lbs. I mentioned how displeased I was with her lack of interest in helping me when she assumed I was uninformed, she blamed it on her sinuses. I will add the following because I want to be fair; in my initial and follow-up calls, I spoke with Gabriel, he was really pleasant and was part of my decision to allow them to move my belongings. In previous moves I have typically moved my things because I was always worried that movers would not treat them as their own, I was correct in this case. I?ve filed a claim and is hoping they will make me ?whole?.

Even the owner son stop by to check on how things were going. He ended up helping out for a while. Highly recommended.

We had to move out of our old place without notice. Family Moving came out the very next day, I had nothing prepared, and they took care of it all. The guys were amazing, they even were interacting with my 4 y/o son, who was kind of in their way, but they even let him â helpâ . Overall it was an amazing experience.

I had large studio mirrors to move. Many movers did not wish to take the risk of moving the mirrors. Family Movers took it on and did a great job. Also, booked it during the busiest time for movers, end of the month. They had a slot for me. Thank you!

The price was quite different from the quoted price. You would expect a difference with a site unseen estimate but it was over three times higher than we expected. Overall, the move went great. The men were very professional and thorough we were quite satisfied

Very professional, responded quickly, thorough estimate that was correct. Suggested 3 men which was the right decision to get the move completed. Men arrived on time, friendly and worked hard thru the hot weather to finish earlier than planned. 10 stars!!

I hired Family Moving and Storage to move some items from my mother's house to a storage unit. I am located in another state, but they were great to deal with over the phone. They were professional and efficient on the job, and actually got us into their schedule on very short notice. It was nice to feel like my mom was taken care of, even without me being there in person.

Recently used Family Moving & Storage and found them to be flexible and able to cover my needs when I had a date change on my POD delivery. We also had a pen my son had received as an award retuned to us personally by Nicolle. Drove it out to the house and dropped it off. That's going beyond expected customer service.

I was promised a 9:00 a.m. arrival time, the crew showed up at 3:00 p.m. When a crew arrives that late in the day, all they want to do is finish (in-a-hurry) and go home. Rushed. Rushed. Rushed. My brand new washer was scratched, and had numerous black marks on the front; one of my bookcases was delivered up-side-down, with damage to the top; dings and scratches on the wall of the new home. I could go on, but what is the point? Overall, the move was unsatisfactory. No, I would not use these movers again.

Hired Family Moving and Storage to move about a mile. Crew was courteous, but lacked some equipment. I provided a 4 wheel moving dolly, which they did not have. They wrapped items well, but while using the 2 wheel or 4 wheel hand truck moving dolly's they scraped the tile and wood floors in two different rooms. To make matter worse, our commercial refrigerator was dropped from the truck and the resulting damage led the refrigerator to stop working. They offered an insurance claim. Takes up to 45 days to process a claim. Their insurance only covers 60% of the weight of an item. This type of insurance is cut rate and not sufficient for valuable items being moved. Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience and cannot recommend this moving service.

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience with this company, several items were broken, the crew was unprofessional, careless and deceptive, For instance they broke off a corner of a bookcase and we saw the guy kick the piece into the shrubs. I understand they have a hard job, I?m not an unreasonable person, the (attempted) cover up was worse than the crime, as they say. They also broke a computer table which I had to point out and after they left I found a broken lamp which they hid in the garage leaving broken glass everywhere. However, my main issue is with the office and the lack of respect they?ve shown me in resolving the issue. I called three times and was pretty much blown off until finally reaching out to Home Advisor who contacted Family Moving on my behalf. Christina promptly called me, I was told they had the wrong email address which is why I never received a claim form. Sigh, I let that slide even thou they emailed me in the past, things like my initial contract and my receipts were all emailed. Not to mention I repeated it each time I called thru all this. Here?s where I got angry, on the call when I went over the broken items as I got to the computer table she sarcastically said ?Oh? The particle board?? Really? I never claimed it was a high end piece. We hadn?t even discussed value. It was as if SHE had already determined it was worthless. Lots of people buy stuff from IKEA and Target, doesn?t mean it?s cheap. Here?s my question to Family Moving & Storage: If I?m willing to pay you over $2000.00 to move my things and another $325.00 for an extra couple weeks storage who are you to insinuate it?s worthless? I?ve moved across country and across the state in the past and I can honestly say this was the worst moving experience ever!
