We entered the waiting room and signed in before having a seat. We waited only about 5 or 10 minutes before being escorted to an exam room. Nurses took my husband's blood pressure and tested his blood sugar, all normal. A new P.A. came in to see my husband, asked about his symptoms, and updated his medical chart. She was very nice and congenial. We had to wait some time to see Dr. Bob, and watched TV while he finished up with other patients. When he arrived, we were greeted and he reviewed my husband's medical chart. He went over the test results, explained in layman's terms prostate issues and prescribed medication for my husband. Dr. Bob has an easy smile and good bedside manner, just wish we didn't have to wait so long in an exam room. Other than that, we always have had a positive experience at this clinic.
Description of Work: We use St. John's as our Primary since we can walk in at any time, rarely have long to wait, and receive excellent care. They have a lot of testing equipment on the premises so basic blood work and urine tests don't have to be sent out. My husband went in for a checkup and to ask the doctor about some prostate issues. We had to wait some time to see the Doctor, which seems to be the Norm, but he's always pleasant and has an excellent bedside manner. And the color tv in the exam room helps pass the time.

I have a blue/cross blue shield GoBlue card that pays $50 for an office visit. As they have a policy of payment due when services rendered I asked what the additional cost would be. They indicated that the cost would be an additional $57.10 out of pocket for the office visit due to being a new patient. I was there for about 10 minutesafter filling out the paperwork needed for a new patient. My blood pressure was checked, my heart and lungs listened to and a few general questions asked. I received the prescription and left. I did not see the doctor as he was not there that day. I received a bill for $291.33, which included a $20.00 blood draw that they did not do (it has been since removed). Blue cross/blue shield allowed 185.53 for the visit and paid $50.00 per the GoBlue card. I was credited the 57.10 that I paid off a balance of $135.53, which left me a balance of 78.43. I called and was told that the initial figure was just an estimate and that it was my responsibility to know what blue cross allows. Their estimate was not even close and I would not have paid $135.53 just to get a prescription written. Update..I went to St John Urgent Care today 11/10 and spoke to Dr. Jerry Jacobson. After listening to my story he felt that the estimate that I was given was indeed too far off the mark and we were able to come to an agreement on the bill.
Description of Work: I visited them to establish the facility as my primary care doctor and to get a prescription for Nexium.
