There are times when a homeowner decides to make a major alteration to their house and have to swim with the sharks to find the right contractor and supplier. Often we are confronted with being over sold for the next grade up when in fact we knew what we wanted from the start but because we don’t know the materials since it is a one time purchase we rely on the sales staff. Well I have to say my experience with Alexandra Rosa at Zafrio Marable & Granite Works, Inc is beyond question the best I have had with any supplier. Not only did she take the time to explain why my first choice was the correct choice and not try to upgrade me, she explained why I made the correct choice. Having a few years behind me in age this was not my first rodeo at the perspective of remodeling a house. But it was my best experience at discovery, resolution and closure with a supplier that not only treated the budget with my goals in check it was also the time line that was impressing as well. I needed to purchase a counter top out of marble and went around to some of the shops to get a price quote on materials. When I arrived at Zafiro, Alexandra greeted me with a confidence that made me feel she understood her materials and my needs. She offer to come out to my house and take measurements when I told her that I took pride in doing my own work she said that she would come out and double check. I told her to rest assured I felt confident in my template that I had made from tapping sheets of paper together. Her response was not to worry this is a free visit. I let her know that I appreciated her and understood if I was off on the minus side the piece could not be glued back together and if I was over it could be adjusted but that wouldn’t happened. Being retired from the workforce I had plenty of time to take correct measurements and my eyesight is till good. A few days later I went back and picked up my counter top and with the stubborn pride of a man that vanity sometimes get in the way. After all I wanted when guest came by my house to say I installed my counter top not to save money but to show my talents. When I went home and placed what was by no means a straightforward 4-sided cut but one that involved complex cuts and angels it fit perfect. The shop foreman I knew would have a challenge especially since it was just pieces of printing paper tape together but it was perfect. I would not be able to slide a piece of paper between the joints. When I caulked the edges it was so tight that it seem to take nothing. Moral of this letter is that Alexandra made me feel special and understood. She examined my needs and deliver what “I” wanted. My cost was surprisingly the lowest of the six shops I went to and a great deal less then Lowes or Home Depot. The shop delivered down to a hundredth of an inch of my template and it looked amazing. I do write letters when I am taken advantage of or given poor service but for some odd reason it is harder to praise someone or company for it is felt they are only doing what they are expected. In this case I am adventuring out of my norm for Zafiro and in particular Alexandra made me realize that when they go beyond what I do expect and yet it is what they do expect to deliver, I should take a moment for thanks for this doesn’t happen to often in our society of nameless experiences. It has taken me back to the days when companies had pride in products and delivery and service wasn’t based on meeting quotes but on giving knowledge with understanding of out come. How often does one walk into a Home Depot or Lowes looking for a sale staff and walking down isles after isles only to discover when you find one it is from a different department? SO from a customer that appreciate or world service I thank you and wish to express to others how fortunate we are to have a trusted and respected member to our community that delivers beyond what others could aspire to. Jorge showed up on time for the quote, and for the actual measurement. The price and cost per square foot was the best in town, almost half of Home Depot, and he still provided the extras like free sink and cutouts. We were able to hand pick the slabs on his lot and identify what parts of the counters we wanted made out of what parts of the slabs. Most important that is they way they showed up at the house. The installation crew showed up on time and conducted themselves profesisonally. The counters custom fit perfectly to our new cabinets. I did not have to pay until after the installation was complete. I went back later and they used their water cutters to trim down some pieces of marble flooring threshold for me free of charge. I will be using them again when we redo our bathrooms.
