We started out with Middleton pest control many years ago and were very happy with them; things really went downhill when Massy bought out Middleton. We had re-sodded with zoysia during the Middleton tenure and was then not well taken care of by Massy's people. Finally fed up with their no results visits, I fired them and looked on Angie's List for a replacement. I came across Troy Monroe who only had two ratings (both good), but I wanted a more personal type of care and somebody who was not lost in the bureaucratic clap-trap of a huge company. I think I found that someone in Troy. He came out and advised what was needed and then did it! There are still some issues that need addressing but we are in the peak of insect/weed/pest season and it may take some time to clean up the lack of care. My wife and I contracted with him to do all the pest, lawn, and fertilizer care. So far I am pleased. If there are any hiiccups downstream, I'll let everyone know.
I found it interesting that Troy once worked for Middleton and quit a short time after the Massy purchase.

Troy has done a good job. He is one man in the neighborhood type service and usually he work well with Michael of Bella Luna Landscape since they are neighbors and they work very closely together. He was here last Thursday. Troy is a once a month service sometimes twice. See what's about having two services that work together, a lawn guy and a landscaper and someone sees something and need to be fertilize or bug spray or whatever Michael will call Troy and tell something about it and Troy will say I'll do that and the same thing if Troy sees something to be done for landscape service he will call Michael as well. On my block there are four people using his service and with Mike has three. The only reason why the fourth person get Troy's service is because he likes doing his own lawn but Michael of Bella Luna also does all his trimming and takes care of other shrubbery stuff and he does not mow grass.

I have never had the results that Troy has given. My lawn color is good. He actually killed the weeds. Every year I used to have hot spots in the lawn. He corrected those with adjusting my irrigation. His price was fair, he comes every month. He will also come by in between services if I have a concern and treat at no charge. He is a family man with a family business that cares about what he does. He has taken the worry out of my lawn for me. I cannot say that about some of the other companies I have had. They were concerned about getting in and out as quickly as possible with no communication. This guy really cares and takes pride in my satisfaction and his results.

My daughter found a few ants in the bathroom so called the service. The technician came and treated outside and inside the house. We then went away for a few days. When we came back we found several areas where corpses had accumulated. We called them back and he came and looked into the problem further and sprayed again. The infestation was enormous. There were numerous colonies in one of the bedrooms. Because my daughter has newborn twins the tech treated the problem very seriously and aggressively. He returned every three days to check up and retreat if necessary. He never charged any more for the extra trips. He was always clean, professional, and concerned. Every time he entered the home he wore shoe covers. He is Massey trained with 10 years of experience. He was priced better than the big companies because he is independent. He has the support of his old Massey colleagues. I can not say enough good things about this gentleman. I highly recommend him to anyone.
