I have been using Lukas Refrigeration and Air-conditioning since we purchased our home in Oviedo. They have been doing regular maintenance for both of our units. They have installed the bigger units downstairs as well. I can’t imagine anything better that what I have been getting. Their responsiveness, professionalism let alone so rightly priced. Last week during regular maintenance an issue showed up, Jeff and his associates treated our home like their own and worked 3 days in a row to resolve it. During the work kept me posted, explained everything. I can tell, I trust these folks by closing my eyes for any HVAC need. They are the best!

I received quotes from several companies and Lukas Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (Lukas) offered the best price for the system I was interested. The quotes offered by other companies were several thousand dollars above the price Lukas quoted. I hired Lukas, and a team of their highly skilled technicians completed the job within hours, which included re-piping, installation of highly efficient 5-ton condenser, air handler and digital thermostat. After the installation, the team made sure all of their work areas were cleaned. Lukas periodically comes to check and maintain the system, and I must say, I am extremely satisfied and impressed with their level of service. In my experience, I have found Lukas to be the most reliable, professional and reasonable air conditioning company.

Jeff arrived to inspect old system and provide a quote. He took great care in checking every detail of our system, and then discussed at some length the details of what was available. In the end, we replaced the entire system. Our A/C had been dead for 3 years, and we only had a single room A/C in the house. The new whole house system uses less electricity than the single room one was using....! The system is a massive improvement over the 20 year old system that was in the house already. I would highly recommend them to anybody who needs repair or replacement of their A/C system.

Peggy at the office took our call and scheduled a quick appointment. Jake came out to assess our needs. We decided on a Trane XL15 with both outside condenser and inside blower. This is an expensive model, but we wanted the best after the previous owners left us with a dilapidated unmaintained Rheem that First American Home Warranty refused to repair. The install and tutorial were scheduled a few days later and went excellent. The techs were professional, courteous, knowledgable, and very pleasant. They even performed some drywall work to the pedestal where the unit sits in the garage. We could not be more pleased. Peggy also facilitated inspection by Oviedo City Works and a $200 Duke energy credit. Would definitely recommend Lukas and use them again.

Peggy, a very professional and pleasant assistant took the call and immediately set up an appointment for Mr Lukas to repair our air conditioner, which would work sporadically and ice had enveloped the outside hose. Mr Lukas came over the very next day and he was very nice and knowledgeable. Mr Lukas is very experienced and owns his own company, I had also found his name for authorized Trane Dealers, which worked even better, since he would be working on a Trane HVAC we have owned for 15 years. Mr Lukas did a great job diagnosing the problem, letting us know in advance the work that needed to be done and advising us that due to the age and condition of the system, this might turn out to be a temporary fix that would just buy us some time rather than replacing the unit right away. It turned out the issue was resolved but we decided to now go ahead and replace the unit for a new, more efficient one. Mr Lukas gave us what we consider to be a fair estimate for a new Trane replacement, so based on his honesty and quality work, we decided to contract him to do the job. This installation work will be done soon, so we will be able to update this review accordingly. So far, we are very pleased and would recommend Lukas Refrigeration and Air Conditioning to all our friends and neighbors who need this kind of repair done.

"Exceptional Job. Technicians are Nate certified and very knowledgeable in all areas and not just limited to Electrical and plumbing. Me and my family are very pleased with the service. Thursday our air conditioner made a loud noise. We called Lukas because they installed the air conditioner originally. They made it over at 4:30 on Friday and diagnosed the problem. Saturday they arrived by 8:30 am and quickly fixed the problem, replaced the fan motor and blade, as well as made it work better then it was when we moved in.

When our a/c unit died, we made no other calls when the first unit died in February. We had worked with Lukas before, and were comfortable with them. Peggy, the office coordinator is always helpful. The team diagnosed the issue, and gave us options. We decided for a full replacement on the indoors air handler and the outdoor compressor. Lukas installed the units In a timely manner, within our schedule, and did so cleanly and efficiently. The gentleman who led the effort at our home (sorry, forget his name) was very professional and made the effort with us to explain the system and it's operation when the job was done. Don't bother with anyone else!

Over all dissatisfied with service. They charged me for a service that I didn't need. I had just had the capacitors replaced before their visit. After 10 minutes on the roof, the tech told me the unit needed a new belt. The labor was $95/hr and the belt was another $90. The unit ran the same after they replaced it. If the belt was in fact broken, my unit wouldn't have been running at all and it was. I only used them was because of the management company of the building my business is in. I had asked the tech several times to leave the part with me and he did not. Lukas would not give me any information about the units age and condition of the parts to keep for my records. I have used other A/C companies who did provide me with this information with no problem. I will not use them again in the future.

"Member occupies 5 suites at a Shopping Center with a total of 8 roof top units. Member is responsible for repairs and his leasing company pays for inspections and maintenance. In May 2014 Member called our office and requested records of the age and condition of all the units in his suites. I told Member that was confidential information between Lukas and his leasing company who had authorized and paid for those services and if one of their representatives would give me permission to release those records I would be glad to supply the documents to him. On July 1, 2014 we were called by Member that a unit was not cooling in one of the suites. Our technician found upon his diagnosis that a belt had been broken on a suite. We did not charge 90.00 for the belt. The bill was 90.00 for the diagnostic and an additional 90.00 for the belt and labor to install it. Member asked our tech for the broken belt, the tech told him he threw it in the dumpster when he came off the roof and would he like him to retrieve it. Member did not respond either way. We have never replaced capacitors on this suite, he must have used another air conditioning company for that repair. On July 2, 2014 I received a phone call from Member, he again requested the records from the leasing companies’ maintenance reports. I told him as of yet I had not received permission to turn over any documents to him. He became extremely irate and began to berate me and our company with a tirade of verbal insults. He did not once mention that the unit “ran the same after they replaced it”. I was forced to terminate the phone conversation due to the language that was being used. I feel that the reason Member gave us an F review was in retaliation of not getting the information he requested. Out of professional privacy and courtesy we do not release records to third parties without the original clients’ permission. We provided him with prompt same day service with a fair price. His unit was cooling properly when our tech left, if Member felt the price was unacceptable he could have declined the services."

Our a/c went out on Friday evening, so the following day after researching providers, we reached out to Lukas on Saturday morning around 8 am. The office let us know that they were fully booked for the day, but if we were flexible they would look to route an engineer to us, and as it happened there was an engineer working at a business not far from our property. We agreed to be flexible, and within about an hour of our first call the engineer called to tell us he was a few minutes away. On arrival the technician was friendly and spent time to understand the issue, and because Lukas are Trane experts diagnosed our problem very quickly and had the parts to resolve the issue. He then checked all our system to make sure that it was operating properly and made some observations and suggestions for future maintenance, and replacements. There was no upsell, just honest advice and expertise. We were back with air in no time, the price was fantastic, the workmanship was superb, the tech was really knowledgable , and the reliability and flexibility was top notch. We were very thrilled with the service and Lukas will be our go to a/c provider. Great experience , thanks Lukas.

I had another "highly rated" company come out and it took them 5 times to figure out what was wrong with our upstairs unit. Their price to fix it was $1200 (on top of the $200 I paid the first time they came out and incorrectly diagnosed it). A friend suggested I call Lukas. I was quoted $480 for the exact same job! My coils along with the module needed to be replaced. The parts were under warranty and Lukas took care of getting the new parts and even got the manufacturer to replace the motor too, since they said if the module was bad, chances are the motor is not far behind. They repaired all 3 items and the price was the original quote. They next day (Saturday) our downstairs unit wasn't cooling properly. We turned it off and called Lukas on Monday. They came out Monday afternoon and the guy said the breaker outside had been pulled. He said one of their guys probably pulled by accident and apologized. He also said he wanted to check a few things while he was there to make sure it was working properly. He knocked on my door and said everything was good and apologized once again. This speaks of the honesty of this company. It would have been easy for him to say something was wrong (freon was low) and charge me a trip fee and I would never had known. Lukas price is better than fair and their technicians are honest. Can't ask for anything better!

Lukas is as ethical and and quot;old schooland quot; as they come. He literally saved my butt. One month after he installed a new Goodman A/C it went bad. He replaced it with a new one at no charge. A month after that my electric bill went through the roof -- up by over 500%! The electric company insisted that it was the A/C. Jeff Lukas personally came to my house 5 times to test it and insisted that it wasn't the air conditioner. He thought it was the hot water heater. A plumber came out and said the water heater was fine. Weeks went by as the bill racked up higher and higher as one and quot;expertand quot; after another came out and said and quot;not meand quot;. Finally Jeff came out on a weekend and tested EVERYTHING in my house -- because he felt sorry for me! He isolated the problem to a slab leak under the floor of my house, past the hot water heater. Thus the hot water heater was heating and dumping water constantly. He was right -- it wasn't the A/C and the plumber was an idiot.
What did Jeff charge me, considering he made 5 trips to my house, spent hours here and it was NOT his fault?

I would never pick another A/C man. Jeff is my hero. Honest, dependable and on top of all that -- has a heart.

We have been using Lukas A/C for many years on our primary home and a rental for annual repairs. In addition we have used them to install ductwork, repair A/C units and replace an A/C unit. Work is professional, reasonable and prompt. HIghly recommend them for any A/C work.
