My wife and I bought a 25 year old house that we wanted to modify and asked Rich for help and advise. We explained what we wanted to do, and he spent a considerable amount of time determining what could be done - and then enhanced our vision by suggesting several enhancements we had not considered. Work started initially with removing some walls, a window, a door, a closet - and moving a door to accommodate the revised floor plan. What started as a small bedroom/den and a kitchen with a small sitting area turned into a great big room with a kitchen at one end and a big screen TV at the other. The finished room is perfect - nobody can even tell it is a remodel. The kitchen cabinets and counter tops were replaced, plus the a new wood floor was installed. The ceiling was refinished and then everything was painted.
As we spent more time in the house, we found other things that needed fixing, such as some bizarre electrical work, nasty attic stairs and a broken intercom system. Rich worked with us to ensure that problems with the house were corrected and made the overall appearance of the interior much cleaner and more functional. His crew also replaced several panels of exterior siding that were rotting, and they blend in perfectly with the rest of the house.
Communications with Rich and his crew were always excellent. He hand picks his team and they are all professional and courteous. This was my second project with Rich, and both went extremely well. Rich has an uncanny breadth and depth of knowledge about home remodeling, and I learned to trust his advise and stick with his recommendations. I am very comfortable with the work he has done and will be calling on him again for the next project.
Rich was selected to work on my mother-in-law's bathroom in a 50 year old house. The shower pan was leaking, and fixing that meant that tile work in the shower and throughout the bathroom would be replaced. Rich was chosen over other contractors because we believed that he understood the needs of my mother-in-law and made some great suggestions to convert the bathroom into a much safer and more comfortable room. In particular, she was interested in having the bathroom modified for her needs as she ages. Rich was extremely knowledgeable in making recommendations for a walk-in shower and appropriate height commode and sink with well placed grab bars that meet her needs now and will continue to do so in the future. He helped pick out floor and wall tile, the vanity and top, the shower and sink fixtures, as well as other components. He and his crew were very courteous and considerate and communications were excellent. My mother-in-law is perfectly happy with the new bathroom and enjoyed working with Rich and his crew.
We had to wait a few weeks for Rich to start the project because he had to finish other jobs, but I appreciated that he would not take on more work than he believed he could manage. When he did start the project, we felt that we had his full attention and things moved along smoothly. I was so impressed with the work, the professionalism and guidance that Rich provided that I hired him to undertake a more extensive project on my house.
This was the second time we had worked with Rich Moriarty of Integrity Remodeling. The first was in 2003 when he converted our unfinished lower level into a family room, bedroom and 3/4 bath. The most recent project was easily 10 x more comprehensive and was completed to our total satisfaction.
The project was completed within 2-3 weeks of the projected completion date, which was great as we had lost at least that much time due to winter weather delays. Rich ensures that the subs always leave as clean a job site at the end of the day as it was when they arrived. He was on site supervising the subs and working as well unless he was picking up materials and was always available by phone if away.
As far as the pre construction budget, he is extremely detailed and provides weekly updates on costs. This includes whatever was worked on the previous week and whether we were on, over or under budget. This is a phenomenal asset as you progress with the project and it should be noted that on the majority of items we came in on budget. A few slightly under and some slightly over, one exception was in excavation costs. We were quite a bit higher there, but in fairness to Rich, we live in the mountains of north Georgia and it would be nearly impossible to estimate the amount of earth that needed to be excavated. In our case 140 + large dump truck loads of earth and rock, so though that was a little bit unexpected, we were overall totally happy. Something else that we should mention is after completion service, there are always a few issues that occur, Rich has always taken care of it as soon as it occurred.
He has incredible ideas and vision when it comes to suggesting changes or offering ideas that will set something head and shoulders apart from the ordinary. Many of our friends and family have complemented the ideas and ascetically pleasing features of our home. Whether it is carpentry, stone work, cabinetry or anything else right on down to suggesting pleasing paint colors, he truly has the ability to make a house into a home!
One last note and this is extremely important and cannot be emphasized enough. If you are looking for the least expensive contactor around, Integrity Remodeling and Rich Moriarty is not your company. However if you are wanting Quality, First Rate work at a Very Fair price, then Rich Moriarty is your contractor. Remember "You Get What You Pay For!"
