Horrible. They changed my AC unit, they said that was energy efficient, my electric bill is up to the roof after they did their work. Do not hire them. Dave's wife is so rude, she hung up the phone on me, when I asked for the warranty.

Everything has worked fine and my power bill is very cheap and that includes the air conditioner, of course.

He comes once a year. He was recommended by a co-worker. He usually just charges a service call, it’s like $70. I use him every year. He is a one-man shop. It’s his own business. He does all the work. He spends at least an hour here checking things and cleaning out the drain that needs to be cleaned out and everything. I would say he is very professional. The inspection includes checking out all the pressurization and all the stuff that needs to be checked out.

The work was poorly done. He tore up pavers outside and didn't replace them. He rebuilt the box the indoor unit was sitting on and did a really crappy job. The unit was defective causing the strip heat to run continuously which caused the airconditioning to run pretty continuously as well. I discovered this when I got a $700 energy bill. When he came out to look at it, he told me it was because the air filter was dirty. The second month the energy bill was $900. When he came to look at it that time he told me the Filtrete filter I was using was causing the high energy usage. The third month the energy bill was $800. He told me to call the energy company to see if there was a problem with my meter. The energy company told me that the likely cause was the strip heat being stuck on. Florida Home Cooling told me that was impossible. I called another AC company to come look at it since Florida Home Cooling always refused to look at anything past the filter. They confirmed that the strip heater was stuck on, but said it should be under warranty so Florda Home Cooling should fix it for free. When I called Florida Home Cooling they got angry that I had called someone else to look at it. They finally came out and fixed it, but were rude about it and maintained that a dirty or specialty filter could cause an energy bill to quadruple even though the energy company told me that was really silly. (To test their theory, after the strip heater was fixed I installed a Filtrete filter and left it in for 6 months. My energy bill has not been over $200.)
Response from Florida Home Cooling
"Installation was on 3/10/11. Customer contacted FHC 6 months later on 9/4/11 regarding energy bill. . Within 2 days of first contact to Florida Home Cooling, we came out and replaced defective heat strip at no charge to customer. Damage to pavers was never mentioned until this posting and customer continued to use FHC for service after initial installation to repair a thermostat customer installed on their own. No mention of pavers. We are sorry to hear you were not satisfied. In the future it helps to report the problems right away so we can take corrective action and make sure you are satisfied."
