Dan was prompt and fixed everything correct the 1st time around.  He actually called back to verfiy that everything looked about a couple days later. Since everything went so well  I asked for quotes for additional work to be done.

All work was completed on time and to my expectations.  Dan was very professional and very gracious with working with my schedule.
For complete disclosure:  Dan is a friend and also attends my church.  However, I am able to be objective in my review.

Dan is a very kind man and very family focused, which I find important.  He was willing to work around my schedule which can be challenging with a young toddler.  I trusted him completely and he did work in our home numerous times while we were out, even out of town.  He was very accommodating and if there were items not to my liking he fixed them without question.  He did a very nice job on painting and minor repairs.  There were a couple of items that in the end I had a hard time with.  One, it took 5 months to complete this project.  I gave him a lot of leeway stating we weren't in a big hurry and I understood he had other jobs he was also working on.  This is all true, but I feel it shouldn't have taken this long.  Two, there were a few areas of drywall I felt should have been repaired without my prompting.  They were issues from where pictures from the previous owner had been hung.  Three, I am very meticulous, which I stated in the beginning, and some of the smaller details were overlooked and needed attention, which they got after I brought them up.  Another thing worth mentioning was Dan's willingness to take on additional items per my requests.  I think I asked for three or four things in addition to our original contract.  He always said, sure, no problem, we can do that.  And they did.  This of course added to the time frame of completion but shouldn't have added two months based on the items added.
I would recommend Dan to my friends and family.

Free estimate, timely, response to 1st call, good recommendation on work dime and date(s), friendly, good cleanup, a bit pricey.

Came once and needed to return to finish the job. They did not want to drill the tile, so we changed the job a little. Everything works fine.

It went very well. I had an unusual circumstance for him to do, I needed a pet door put in. It took a little while but we did get them out. The came in and did their job. They responded right away.

D J's Construction Services were on time and everything that they did worked. They were pleasant.

It took several months to get Mr. Daniel Thorne, owner of Dj’s Construction, to fulfill the Angie’s list coupon’s deal of 3 hours of handyman services for $99. However, Mr. Thorne was in touch with me and informed me that he had a big job to finish – building a house - and that it was going to take him a few months to honor the coupon.
After he finished the house that he was building, I contacted him by email, and he was ready to schedule a time soon after I’d contacted him. Mr. Thorne came with his son, and both did a great job installing the fans and the light fixture.
In spite that Mr. Thorne had to customize the installation of two of the ceiling fans because the flush mount was not the standard size, hence it took he and his son much longer to install these fans, he was very reasonable in the cost for the extra hours of work (in addition to the original 1 ½ hours for two handymen).
Mr. Thorne and his son were very professional and courteous as well. Mr Thorne also helped me with one other minor fix in the garage, and he didn't charge me for helping me, although this was outside the scope of our original agreement.
I recommend DJ Construction for any construction, electrical, and remodeling work of your house.

We purchased a handyman special from someone who ended up going out of business and DJ accepted taking the deal on for us. He was friendly and walked through my list of needs. He did put up the blinds but didn't do any calking or filling of existing holes. He went to the store to buy needed supplies for roof area but didn't end up using anything. He did give us a name of a terrific roofer so we were pleased with that. We purchased two of these specials and it stated one would be for his son and one for him. His son was out of town so he came by himself. We felt we still had time left on the first deal with him but decided we didn't want him to return. He was friendly but talked a lot and we didn't feel accomplished much.

This coupon had an expiration date of April something, but he had just started a very big house when I called for the appointment.  He advised that he couldn't get to me before the expiration, but he would honor the coupon regardless.  It took a little longer than he expected to finish that job, but he came and got it all done in under two hours, so the one BIG Deal covered the entire cost.  He covered the floor to make sure no spray got on it.  I had already covered outlets and switches and the one exit door into the garage.  When he finished, he said if it wasn't satisfactory when it dried to contact him; and he would return and re-texture it.  I'm satisfied with his work.  He does all kinds of other home fix-it jobs, too, so I will keep his card in my file for future reference.

Daniel & Son arrived on time. It was soon obvious that the job was a bit more complex than originally defined.  But they persevered, made a trip to Home Depot for additional parts and supplies, and completed the job to my great satisfaction.  I'd use this company again in a heartbeat!

They were very thorough, very professional and did an excellent job. I had everything ready for them when they arrived, they did not waste any time and went straight to work. They painted the front door, installed a garbage disposal and installed a pool screen. They worked very fast and efficiently.

Dan and his son Micah were a pleasure to work with. They were careful and knowledgeable about their work. The fact that they were nice and friendly was just a bonus!

They came on time and very professional.  I could not be happier with their work.

They picked up the ladder and also brought trim so the ceiling looked nice and finished when the project was completed. They didn't cut corners on any part of the installation and I am confident that ladder is securely and properly installed. Having grown up in a family full of construction workers, I know a solid job when I see it. These guys were very polite and professional, when I have more projects like these around the house that I can't do myself, I will certainly contact them first. Excellent job.

Dan and his son Micah were hired to assemble some Ikea furniture for me that I didn’t feel I could do myself.  They did an outstanding job and were very patient, and they cleaned up nicely after themselves. They were quite professional, as well. I even had some time left in the 3 hours, so I asked them to check the smoke alarm that hadn’t been working right which was wired into the house. Dan removed the smoke alarm and capped the wire off, and advised me to get a battery operated one. All in all, I was very pleased with how hard they worked and the experience overall.  They both have an excellent background in construction, and are outstanding in the handyman department! They even saved the brochures for each piece of furniture and the little tool used to put them together. They just went above and beyond on anything that I asked them to do.

Full disclosure alert:  Dan is a friend and church member where I pastor.  I can and am being truthful in my evaluation. 
Dan has been a pleasure to work with.  I am leery of mixing business and church with workers but Dan has made it an exceptional relationship.  His is always professional, thorough, exacting and reliable.  Dan has set his standard that he will do the work as if he was doing it for his parents and it shows.  His company is a bit slower that some but that is due to the exacting nature of their standards.  The painting was well done, the carpentry work was excellent, the drywall was up to standard and all the other jobs he performed pleased my wife and me.  Another bit of disclosure, I did carpentry, drywall, and plumbing professionally for many years and am critical of work performed for me since I am not able to do bigger jobs myself.  I have been satisfied with his work and would certainly hire him again.  His rates are very reasonable, he is meticulous with his cleaning up and keeping the work site clean.  He will stay until the job is done and checks up on his work and your satisfaction.  Dan is my go to guy.

I felt I could turn to Dan to get the job done well and not overcharge me.  I rent my home & live out of state and  trust factor is all important.  I was told by my property manager that the garbage disposal was not working & a new one was needed plus the great room needed painting.  I lost no time in contacting Dan.  He checked out the garbage disposal & felt that it could very possibly be fixed & I would not have the added expense of replacing it with a brand new one.  However, when he later came with tools & good intentions, he found that the unit did, indeed, need to be replaced.  I trust Dan & went along with his decision. The great room needed paint & he also took care of this.  When I had called him, he was very busy with other jobs.  Knowing my need, he kindly adjusted his schedule and worked me in - - just in time for the new tenants to move in.  Daniel Thorne is the absolute best at what he does & if anything else comes up, he is the one I will turn to.  I can trust him!

I got a few bids and Dan gave me the best one. He and his son, Micah arrived right on time and proved to be a dream-team.  I was very impressed with their knowledge, courteousness and professionalism.  The faucet needed 2 new water hoses which Dan immediately went out and purchased.  Upon returning, he gave me the receipt.  Having dealt with past "opportunists", I was so relieved and very pleased with this level of honesty.  The faucet was properly installed in a short period of time.  Meantime I asked lots of questions and was very impressed with the responses I received - they know their business!  They were so polite, knowledgeable and cooperative.  I found the right people that I would eventually entrust my home to, as I will be renting it out and precisely need good people who will do any and all repairs correctly and honestly.  Huge relief for me!  I cannot say enough good things about Dan and Micah.  They are absolutely terrific!
