Auto Mech & Muffler

I think they're terrific. We've used them for 15 years. I never had a problem with them. If someone was looking to hire Auto Mech, I'd say "Go for it." They're also one of the few auto repair places that don't treat women like crap. They're respectful. The car is ready when they say it's going to be ready. Once they have a problem, they call us to let us know. They don't do unnecessary work that I can tell. When you get the car back, it's clean.

The check-engine light had gone on in my truck and I took it to Auto Mech Muffler to see what was wrong. They ran a diagnostic and told me that a few things might be causing the problem but the first thing they wanted to do was replace a vacuum hose they thought had failed. This small part and service ended up costing me about $250 and DID NOT solve the problem. I took the truck back because the light had come on again. This time they told me that the throttle body needed to be replaced entirely. This would cost about $800 to $1,000. I did not feel like they were being honest about all this so I declined and took my truck to an auto service provider in Sanford. This other company simply cleaned and serviced the existing throttle body for about $200. They told me that it did not require replacement at all. The engine was fixed and I have not had any problems with this issue since that time. It is now a few years later.

Jason and Don have been providing outstanding repair service for our Toyota Landcruiser, Acura MDX and Audi S4 for many years. They are always extremely professional, helpful, and go out of their way to provide the best deal for us as well as completing the work in a very timely manner. The Toyota lost it's power steering on my drive home from work. Since it was after closing, I left the car with a note as to the problem. Early the next morning Jason called to inform me that not only did the car need a new power steering pump, but also a new radiator. He secured the parts quickly and had the car repaired the next day. Unfortunately the power steering pump failed within 20 minutes of installation. Jason ordered another pump and installed it as soon as it came in. That pump also failed!! Jason dealt with Toyota to secure another pump and made sure that it was new (not used), and it was successfully installed and is running perfectly. We can always count on Jason to do an excellent job in a very timely manner...usually we drop off the car in the morning and it is done the same day unless the parts do not come in. We often recommend Auto Mech to our friends because we think they are terrific!!

Excellent! Very polite and helpful when I called explaining the problem with my car (sluggish to start sometimes). When I brought the car in, I also asked if they could change the oil and do the scheduled maintenance, since it was almost due. Very accommodating and worked hard to get my car back to me ASAP.
After looking at the car, they prompt called to explain the work needed and the costs (which were very fair, based on my research).
I used to take my car to the dealership, but stopped because they often kept the car 8 hours just to change the oil and charged considerably more than Auto Mech and Muffler.

After the test drive, they told me I should take it to a transmission repair shop. For this they charged me $50. Maybe I've been spoiled, but I have lived in Detroit, St. Louis and Atlanta, and have never been charged for being told to take my car elsewhere.
