He got a check from us and ghosted us. He wouldn't return calls or come to finish the job. He did the demolition of the existing tiles and then left the job. He doesn't know much of how to do anything. If you don't know, say so instead of agreeing to do something that you don't know how to do. He broke the water pipes a couple of times and I was without water for 2 days waiting for a plumber to come fix it.

I had tile placed in the house and was going to use the same company that did my tile, but after they worked placing down the tile, I decided not to use them for the laminate because their service was poor (Poor communication after implementing the work, showing up 2 hours late for a job on mutliple occasions without calling, not planning the job right to minimize disruption since we were still living in the house during the process). They did a good job on the final product (the tile), but chose not to go with them to finalize the laminate for the previously aforementioned reasons. So I began to search for another vendor to do the laminate (1400 square feet). I located Danny's company because they had cards posted on a billboard at a local flooring store. Prior to selecting Danny to do the job, I did  exhaustive research.

I turned to Angie's list and used several other methods to weed out candidates. I am sure most people are skeptical about dealing with people in their homes due to concerns about being ripped off, poor quality work, safety concerns, etc.  I am very skeptical dealing with companies that will  be doing work in my house. After 20+ years as a law enforcement officer and dealing with issues related to some contractors I am very cautious. After researching Danny's company on the internet, I cam across a few negative reviews on Angie's list and city vibe, but opted to give  Danny a call because the negative rating were significantly less than the many positive ratings I located. I queried Danny regarding the negative reviews. Danny spoke very candidly about the negative reviews and after several minutes talking with Danny on the phone, I requested he come out to the house so we could talk in person and for him to give me a hard estimate never disclosing to Danny my law enforcement background. This was also an opportunity to look him in the eye and get a gut reading on him. After meeting with Danny, I trusted my instincts and contracted with him to do the work. I had researched and met with 5 different vendors prior to selecting Danny to do the job.

All I can say is they did an amazing job. He and his crew were professional. They were on time every day (usually a little early) and they worked hard the entire time. Danny maintained excellent communication by discussing  the process with me prior to implementation as well as throughout the actual process. They kept the work site clean as could be expected and they just flat out worked their tails off. My wife and I are extremely pleased with the end product, but more importantly we were exceptionally pleased with Danny's quality customer service. We could not have asked for a better job to be done. We have had multiple people over since completion of the laminate and we have received many kind and flattering words regarding the laminate flooring Danny and his crew put down for us. I strongly recommend Danny and his company to anyone seeking to have flooring done if they desire the work to be done by a capable, competent and professional provider.

I've had visitors asking about the new floor and I'm happy to recommend Armour Flooring to them as well.  The new flooring has enhanced the value of my home.  My son has strong allergies to dust and the carpet needed to be replaced.  The wood floors allow for more thorough removal of the dust and a cleaner appearance to the room.  The entire process from furniture removal to installation was done in the time explained during the first discussion by Daniel Armour.  Daniel arrived with the crew and supervised the project from start to finish.  He walked me through the project to confirm that the installation was satisfactory.
Of course, I was excited to say it looked fabulous.

Mr. Armour was always very professional and friendly. He always seemed to answer all of our questions thoroughly. When it was time to do the work, they arrived promptly at the scheduled time and began work immediately. They did their best to minimize the dust created from taking out ceramic tile, which afterwards was a huge benefit to us. Our house was dust free in a couple of days. This, I found out later, is not the norm, it usually takes longer. When they completed their work, they did an excellent job of cleaning up. We couldn't be happier with the work preformed and the flooring they installed. I would highly recommend Armour Flooring to anyone thinking of installing new flooring.

They arrived on time, did a great  job, cleaned up and put all the furniture back in its place. The employees were very polite, did the job in a reasonable amount of time and left everything orderly. All of the old materials that were removed were disposed of properly.

I should add that prior to us deciding on the type of flooring to purchase, Daniel Armour, the owner,  came out and gave us some good advice on what type of flooring works well and what does not, which we greatly appreciated.  His price was very reasonable.

Daniel seemed to care very much about making us happy. He made sure we were satisfied with the final outcome. He was also very responsive to phone calls and emails when scheduling the job. I would highly recommend using them and we will again in the future.

Danny has done so much work for me personally and for my businesses, as well as numerous family and friends, it would be almost a book's length for me to go into the details.
I gave Danny a B on "responsiveness" because once or twice it took more than 24 hours for a return call or email. He never made excuses though. Just apologized and told me he always try to return calls as soon as he can.

DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN ... His workmanship is sloppy and HE IS VIOLENT!!! For the safety of your family, do not hire this man.

We paid for half the labor up front, which was also a mistake. The workmanship on this job wasn't worth half of what we agreed to pay. We held back on the other half of the labor because we were unsatisfied. We allowed Danny Armour several weeks to correct the issues listed above. At one point, he called us saying that he had completed all of the corrections and asked us to send the money immediately. Because we were skeptical, we scheduled a trip down to check up on his work. He had done nothing. Not one thing had been corrected. His defense was that he had "three contractors come in and they said that the wood was installed to manufacturers specs". [see 2 paragraphs below] He accused us of doing the damage to the work so that we wouldn't have pay the bill. Then he refused to do anymore work, saying that we had wasted too much of his time already.

When we confronted him about lying to us [luckily, over the phone] his temper became violent and he threatened to destroy our home if we did not pay him. Since then, he has persistently stalked my husband, threatened to "take out his legs", wait for us at our home and "do what it takes to collect" what we owe him, and called my husband a "scumbag that doesn't pay his bills".

We had an attorney contact him to make him stop stalking us and let him know that we have no intention to pay the remaining balance, and that because of his threats he is not going to have anymore negotiating power to come to our home to complete the job [not that he offered]. He responded by saying that he was waiting to have an independent expert review the job [see 2 paragraphs above where he already said he did just that].

Overall, I would say Armour flooring, and Daniel Armour are not worth your time or money or a contractor. For the safety of your family, do not hire this man.

UPDATE: Recently he has stalked a family member of mine that has absolutely nothing to do with these issues and threatened to beat him up and tried to provoke a physical fight in front of the man's children. A police report was filed with the Oviedo Police (#20113351995). We later found out that there have been several other similar incidents filed against Daniel Armour.

UPDATE: We have recently discovered that Daniel Armour, in another attempt to harass my family, has resorted to using my family member's identity online to create a Google business account. We have yet to understand the motive for this, but we have spoken to police who have verified that this behavior is indeed unlawful. We will be filing yet another police report against Danny Armour.

This is one of the worst experiences that I've had on Angie's List, actually one of the worst experiences ever!  I met with the owner Daniel for the estimate and he seemed knowledgeable, professional and the price was fair.  He told me that his installer had been working for him for many years and that he (Daniel) was a perfectionist so I would not have any problem with my floor.  I believed what he told me and as I said the price was fair so I thought how could I go wrong...That was my biggest mistake!  I set the first phase (Master Bed, Living Room, Dining Room and Foyer, $ 2,300.00) of the installation up for 2 weeks later.  The guys came as scheduled and flew through the job very quickly, I was just happy to be back in my house earlier than expected and I was even more thrilled to finally have my floor in after waiting for over a year.  I did notice what I thought were low grout areas (it actually turned out to be uneven tile) in the dining room and a hand full of hollow tiles in the living room so I informed Daniel of this the next day.  I told him we would just add some grout and fix the hollow tiles when they came back for the other phases.  After about a month I contacted him again for the second section (2 Front Bedrooms, $ 700.00) and we set it up for the following Monday.  He texted me a couple of days later (Wednesday) and asked if they could start on Friday instead.  I was going out of town Saturday so I told them they had to finish no later than Saturday at 11:00 so we agreed to start early.  They installed all of the tile in both rooms before 2:00 that day and left.  I came home and started checking to make sure there were no hollow tile and I found a string of them in the front bedroom (approx. 1/4 of the room), at that point I was upset that they'd made this mistake again.  The installers called me at 6:00 that evening and asked if they could come grout that night, I thought that it would be better to go ahead and get it done so I agreed.  When they arrived I pointed out the hollow tile so Greg pulled them up and re-laid several sections and then grouted everything.  The next morning I noticed that the grout around the re-laid tile was much darker than all of the other areas.  I gave it a little more time to dry and hoped that the discoloration would fade a bit but, it didn't so I contacted Daniel and asked him to meet with me to discuss the issue.  At first he said he would fix it when they did the next phase but, at that point I was starting to loose confidence in their workmanship so I told him I wanted it fixed ASAP along with the dining room and living room issues.  He said he would come the next Monday to fix everything, I spent that entire weekend moving boxes and furniture to prepare for the repairs.  On Monday morning he said he could not make it...I was starting to feel like he was trying to brush me aside.  I re-scheduled the repairs for last Friday and in the scheduling conversation Daniel told me he was going to "stop by" but, his guy would be fixing the floor.  I really got angry then, why would he send the same guy who had made the mistakes in the first place not to mention the fact that he'd told me that Greg had injured his hand weeks earlier and that he'd been making mistakes on the jobs ever since.  I told Daniel that I wanted him to take care of this since I had lost my faith with his workers.  He begrudgingly agreed to stay while they fixed their mistakes before telling me to leave him alone because he was busy working on another job.  Yes, he told me to leave him alone I mean he already had my money so what did he care, right.  On Friday Daniel showed up early to go through my concerns.  We started at the front porch where they'd slopped mortar on the wall and floor, then we moved to the uneven tile in the foyer "that is industry standard ma'am" so I moved to the tile in front of the linen closet where they went from an 1/8" grout line to 1/4", he didn't have much to say about that one.  Then we moved to the discolored grout "that is normal color variation ma'am", I knew that was untrue because I had about 1000sf of floor that didn't have that much variation.  So next up the hollow tiles ... I tapped them with my fingernails because when my dogs walk over those particular tiles their nails hit the hollow spots and it drives me crazy, as far as I was concerned that sound equals poor workmanship.  Daniel proceeded to tell me I needed to tap it with my knuckle not my nails "this isn't hollow when you knock on it like this".  Unfortunately for me my dogs don't have knuckles they have nails so I can still hear the *tink* when they walk over them.  By the time we reached the dining room and living room he had excused almost every complaint until he started hitting Daniels version of hollow.  Next I showed him the uneven tiles, he excused a few as "industry standard" but, wasn't able to excuse several areas.  When his guys came they started hammering up the hollow tile (at a cost of about $ 7 per tile for material) and before I knew it they had the jackhammer out.  I didn't think about it when they started but that process creates a huge cloud of very fine dust that deposited itself ALL OVER everything in my house and of course Daniel and his guys didn't think to cover anything!  They ended up taking up about 1/3 of the tile in the living room and dining room walkway.  They re-laid those sections and dug out and re-grouted the front room to correct the color variation.  I was not going to let them grout the new tile and cause that variation again so Daniel said he would come back to do that on Saturday afternoon.   He arrived on Saturday afternoon and quietly finished the new tile and half heartedly "cleaned" the front porch.  As he was packing up I closed the garage door and stood at the front door waiting for him to come apologize for the inconvenience or poor workmanship or something but, instead he jumped into his truck and drove away.  I was shocked that he was treating me as if I had done something wrong!  That had to be one of the most unprofessional things that I've ever experienced from a business owner.  In closing all that I can tell you is...if you hire this company you better pray they get it right the first time because if you complain about anything (even justified mistakes) they treat you with complete disregard and disrespect.  The only time Daniel is Johnny on the spot is when he comes to take your money after that he gets really dodgy...he didn't really come to check the job or supervise his men he just came get them started and to pick up the check.  After my experience with Armour Flooring I've been left with mortar spots on my porch, dust all over everything in my house, a few hollow and uneven tiles, a random 1/4" grout line (oh yes he didn't want to replace the 1/4" grout tile because he said that it would be too much work) in the foyer and a very bad taste about the way I was treated...not to mention the cut on my foot from a shard of porcelain I stepped on in the middle of the night.

To Daniel:
Since you didn't take the time to talk to me before you stormed off I have a few things I would like to say to you and this is my only forum.  You stood in my home and promised that I would be happy with the finished floor because you were a perfectionist and you had very competent workman.  You and I both know that your workmen made several mistakes from the random 1/4" grout line to the hollow and uneven tile but you treated me as if I was overreacting.  I work very hard for my money and I don't enjoy throwing it away on a sub-par job where you wasted more than $ 150.00 of tile.  The sections that you agreed to fix are much better now it is just too bad that you felt that you needed to disrespect me as a customer in the process.  All you ha
Response from Armour Flooring
"As with any tile install customers have to stay off tile till it drys Member admitted walking on finished tiles within hours of install because she thought she heard from her dogs nails hollow tiles. When you walk on tile before it drys it causes hollow spots n uneven tiles . I was out to Member's house 8 times in 3 1/2 week time to fix 19 tiles that she said were uneven or hollow the day in question that i ask her to please stop texting me because i had to finish a job i was on was because after the 5 th text we set up a time to for me to stop by again she texted me 68 more times that day before i asked politely that i would see her friday .Member Threaten to used Angie s list review against me. She said if u fix these last issue i will give u a decent review . I personally couldnt make her happy if i was out there 50 more times no one can she walked on floor before tiles were dry n caused all of the issues i went above n beyond for Member i take my work extremely serious n dont want any unhappy customers but Enough was Enough"

Horrible, they left all the old carpet they pulled up to install the laminate in my front yard. They left saw dust and trash all over my kitchen and living room. In less than six months my flooring is bowing and needs to be replaced. They left trash, debris, sawdust all over my house, garage and yard. This is the worst service I have ever recieved for any service I have requested.
Response from Armour Flooring
"We would never leave trash at anyone s house especially not in there house . Member bought 59 cent laminate which came with no warranty from Floorig HQ because of the quality of product purchased . We meaning Flooring HQ or Armour Flooring never recieved any complaints from Member until this review if he would have called i would have fixed floor n it wouldnt have had to be replaced . Flooring HQ salesmen informed me that this was also a rental property so there could have been many reasons the floor had issues Next time i would recommend calling me directly"

Daniel Armour is a first-class guy to work with. He was very patient and understanding; he fought for us to get the best prices on tile and supplies from the vendor. We had several issues with vendors and with our new home; he went out of his way to make sure that we were getting a quality product and that we were making the right decisions throughout the process. There was never any pressure from him to hurry up and make a decision,  and he always followed up with the tile vendor to make sure that everything was done properly. We were going to purchase a travertine flooring, however he was not happy with the quality of the stone that was being sold to us. We then switched to wood, but we had some issues with some water leakage that pushed us away from that option. When we finally found a nice tile, Daniel was just as careful and persistent in helping us make the right decision as he was on Day 1. Long story short: We put this guy through alot, and he helped us every step of the way even with all of the curve balls that got thrown his way throughout this process. The installation is perfect and his team was professional. He did not charge us for little extras like replacing damaged trim and moving appliances around. They cleaned up their mess really well, and even hung the plastic for us to prevent dust from getting everywhere as they removed the old tile. I will use his company again for future projects for myself and for my family. He cares about his work, and he wants to do everything the right way, not the easy way.

When I contacted Daniel he was professional, accommodating and met me for an estimate that day between appointments. He was prompt for both the estimate and installation. The price was more than fair and he thoroughly explained all details of the bid. His quality of work exceeded my expectations and was completed in a timely manner. He is a meticulous businessman and takes pride in what he does. I definitely plan on using him again for future projects.

Very well. Daniel (the owner) was personally present throughout the work and went above and beyond to remove stains from the existing floorboards and explained in detail all aspects of the job. The final job turned out even better than I had imagined. I highly recommend them!
