I have been going to Alafaya Trail Animal Hospital since I moved down to FL in 2013. They have been absolutely amazing these past 7 years & I will try to highlight a few reasons why here: - This place treats your pets like Royalty! Every vet tech, doctor, & receptionist absolutely loves animals to their core. There's been days I've gone in any there's a cat sitting on a receptionist's lap purring away and making biscuits, and another time a smaller silky-looking dog was snoozing on a plush doggy bed next to a receptionist because she said he had gotten lonely in the back. Another time they held a Halloween photo booth in their lobby so pets could have their photo taken while looking snazzy in Halloween gear. My last visit the vet tech played fetch with my corgi, Nigel, while they waited for the doctor to come out of dental surgery (it wasn't a long wait, & the vet tech didn't have to do this. She just knows my dog's favorite thing in the world is fetch, & she wanted to make my dog happy while he waited!) - All the doctors here and staff also treat the Pet Parents like family! They are not only top-notch profession, but they are fun, outgoing, excited and happy to see both you and your pet when you come! They're always making sure that they're doing anything they can to prioritize both you and your pets' time and well-being. - Speaking of which - the next day after every visit, they do a courtesy call to check in and see how your pet is doing! A lot of the time I can't answer my phone because I'm at work, but I listen to their voicemails and they always say they're checking to to see how Nigel is doing because x, y, z thing (like, if he had vaccinations, making sure he didn't have a reaction, or if he had a new medication, checking to see how he was adapting, etc.). I have never had another vet office do this - this level of customer service really blew me away and is one of the many, many reasons why I love coming here! - Furthermore, they are fair & honest with their pricing. They will explain everything to you on an invoice before they charge you so there are no "surprises" & if you are in a tight spot they will do whatever they can to work with you. I highly, recommend their VIP package - it has REALLY saved me when there were times where Nigel has had major health issues. - One great example of the top level of care, was in Aug of 2019 Nigel got an ulcer on his eye. Dr Quiñones (or Dr Q) was so caring & informative and helped craft a wonderful treatment plan for Nigel to try & get rid of his ulcer. Even when it was clear that the ulcer needed a specialist (we later learned it was a genetic eye disease that's common in corgis so it wasn't responding to anti-biotics) she immediately had a referral for me and I was able to get an appointment soon after. Thanks to Dr Q's expert advice, great treatment, and quick thinking to get Nigel the referral he needed, he still has his wonderful vision! - Another amazing thing is the amount of Dedication & Compassion they have for their line of work and for the level of care they give your pets. Last Dec, Nigel started having seizures randomly. Dr Duprey and his team worked tirelessly to make sure they caught Nigel's seizures early, distributed anti-seizure medication as quick as possible, & ensured that Nigel was comfortable while he was under observation with them. They comforted him when he was scared, showed kindness to him when he was upset and even though Nigel can be one Spicy Corgi (read: not nice) they never once even seemed phased - they still showered him with attention, love, & compliments. When I would come in to take Nigel home for the night Dr Duprey personally went over all Nigel's x-rays, bloodwork, imagining reports - everything - with us. He wanted to make sure no stone was un-turned in finding the cause of these seizures, & making sure that he had the absolutely best treatment plan possible for us & that he was there to answer any and all questions we might have. *This Vet Office is AMAZING & I cannot thank them enough for all they have done for Nigel!!*
