I attended the Home show in Daytona in Sept, 2014. I stopped
at U.S. 1 homecrafters booth. They did paver restoration. They had a board of
old pavers they had restored. It was beautiful. It was so smooth & glossy &
looked perfect.  I wanted that. Rep. Craig
Riggs came in Oct. quoted a price of $1969. It was so expensive, but I wanted
my pavers to look like those on the board so I agreed to price. I did not get
what I expected.  He cleaned pavers with
a machine 1st day & was to cut pavers & install 23? of drain
across patio. He only cut 121/2? as he said he was afraid he would break them.
He could not refund me for the drain as he said it could not be returned. Craig
& his son came back next day & sanded & sealed. He sprayed on the
sealer. He wanted payment before he was finished. I called the office &
charged on Visa. I waited 24hrs. for it to dry & then I inspected.  There were several loose pavers & many
places where there was no sand between pavers.  Also he got so much sand & sealer in the
pool that I had to have the filter replaced for $90 & it took the pool
service 4 weeks to vacuum all the sand. He offered no compensation for this. He
worked on the loose pavers.  He said he
would come back & add sand as he didn?t have any with him. It was not shiny
or smooth. It was not like the board I saw. He had told me to call him if there
was a problem. I called & waited until Dec. for him to return. By then
there were more places that opened up as the sand settled & disappeared &
more pavers were loose.  I told him how
he got sealer & sand sealed in the sealer on my doors & bottom of
supper kitchen  & that I spent hours
scraping sealer off doors & tile & refrigerator & cabinet doors, &
all around the screen enclosure at the bottom. I can?t clean it off. He spread
some more sand around & rolled sealer on those pavers.  I told him my patio did not look anything
like the board they had for advertising. I was not pleased with it at all.  He said he did the board for the owner Dennis
Simon & it just had two coats on it. 
There was no way those pavers just had two coats. It was so glossy &
smooth. Well more grass was growing between pavers & I could no longer get
in contact with Craig. So, I called the owner, Denis Simon, & told him that
the paver job looked terrible & grass was growing so he came out &
looked at it & said I will let you know in a couple of days if I can do
anything. He called me & said he would come out on a Saturday & re-sand
& seal but I would have to pay for material. I said that I shouldn?t have
to pay for it to be made right & he said that was the best he could do so I
agreed.  Dennis came on March 27th
with a helper & scattered sand & sprayed water over it. He said water
would settle the sand around pavers. He swept excess in the pool.  He had me walk around & inspect. It looked
good. His helper sprayed on sealer & Dennis brushed it over pavers with a
long handled brush to cover pavers.  He
knocked over the bucket & sealer went everywhere & into the pool. He
frantically pushed it with the brush to move excess. I waited 24hrs &
inspected. I was horrified. There was sand with brush strokes all over the pool
area where he had dragged sand over it. Sealer was sprayed on the bottom of
doors & summer kitchen again. There is sand sealed in sealer on all my pool
enclosure rails at the bottom.  It is
dried & I cannot get the sand off. 
It looks terrible. Again I spent hours scraping sealer off doors &
kitchen area. Now I have grass & mold growing between pavers. It is dull &
has sand on top of pavers. I sweep up sand in the dust pan every day. I just
want to cry. I am a 73 yr. old widow. How does one get something like this
resolved. I called Dennis & he said ?You were satisfied?. I said that it
looked good after you sanded it but now after the sealer it looks terrible.
There are so many places where the sand has just disappeared. Every time it
rains there is more sand in the pool. Three beach balls floating in the pool
have a ring around the bottom of sand & sealer that I can?t get off. That
is what I am swimming in. I?m sure it isn?t safe.
