I emphasized at the beginning to these movers that I did not want our property transferred from one truck to another or stored in a warehouse. Since our pick-up date was on a Tues and the delivery date was the following Saturday, our property would be stored in the trailer for four nights, three of which we were to pay for at $100/night (one night was offered for free). I was promised that the trailer would remain locked and stored in a guarded yard. I cautioned them about the fragility of our bookcase and asked them not to put pressure against its sides. It was loaded standing up and padded. I made a mattress sling which made it easy to lift and carry our queen-size mattress and they used it to carry our mattress out to the trailer. As they closed the trailer, I saw the sling at the back, where I could retrieve it upon delivery. The trailer looked well packed. On delivery day, I noticed the mattress sling was not where it had been. I watched while they brought things in and noticed the bookcase lying on its side with heavy items stacked on top of it. I began asking questions and learned that they had offloaded all our property, then reloaded it for delivery - just what they had promised not to do. The reload trailer was not as tall, so they had trouble getting some of our taller pieces in. The bookcase was badly gauged on its side. Also, they had laid a heavy steal drill press on the center section of our dining room table with no padding at all resulting in a huge gash in our table. They brought everything in without producing the inventory that had been taken when the original trailer had been packed, so we have no idea what might be missing - other than the mattress sling, a handy tool for movers which they kept. Then they announced that they had failed to insure our property so we would have been due a refund for that cost ($260), but since they had labored to transfer all our property, they were charging us for that so they would not be refunding the insurance money. In other words, they did not insure our property and then charged us for breaking their promise to us not to transfer our property. Conclusion: dishonest, reckless, unreliable unprofessional petty thieves. Avoid these clowns.
