Mark Pierson, the firm's owner, was a real find for us. We bought a mobile home in a 55+ community in Ormond Beach and have been working to fix it up and furnish it for when my parents retire. He helped us design an extra child's bedroom for the grandchildren from a 7 foot by 8 foot mud room. He will be installing a bunk system tailored to the rooms dimensions and the mattresses we purchased. He removed cabinets from the room and reinstalled them into the laundry room -- the result was perfect, and allowed sufficient space for the bunks. He also painted the room, painted a tall set of bookshelves, built the shelves into a nook in a way that made them an integral part of the children's room and did the same for a second set of shelves, which he painted light gray and installed into the wall of our living room -- renderiing the corner of the living room absolutely perfect for a reading area. In addition, he painted four chairs of a used patio set we purchased, and, through his efforts, the set blends perfectly into our screened porch and looks brand new. Finally, he created a really neat wooden grab bar, which my Mom needs to climb the two stairs leading to the entrance door. As an artist and craftsman, Mark has a real flair for design and a feel for what will look good while serving a practical purpose. Mark also kept his work area immaculately and was fastidious in terms of daily clean up.
Mark was always punctual, super responsive, and amazingly reasonable in terms of his pricing -- offering us the choice of a low lump sum price or a very affordable hourly rate (plus reimbursement for materials). With his warm, amiable personaility, Mark also was a real pleasure to have around. We cannot recommend Sharkwell and Mark Pierson more strongly. He is simply first-rate.
Mark has an amazing talent for woodworking and original artwork. I am a graphic artist and fine artist and we both hit it off as good friends and being able to appreciate each others talent. Mark went above and beyond to refinish my table until it was done to his perfection. Mark is a person that really cares about his work and his customers satisfaction is most important to him.

During the initial discussion, I was explaining what I envisioned in the space. I said I would like adjustable shelves in the area with doors. As Mr. Pearson of Closet Rodz, LLC and Mr. Sharkwell told me that they would need to put in a divider board down the middle of the shelving and three of the shelves needed to be stationary since the area width was 44 inches. I said I don’t think I would like that board dividing the shelving area. At this point if I was thinking correctly, I would have realized that these guys were either not listening or didn’t care. Because when a client is saying they would not like something, they should have suggested alternatives, like all stationary shelving. When these guys came over and were adding the shelves, I asked if they were going to add a board to cover the back area and was told no. The back of the area was cement and glue. Mr. Pearson became extremely mad when Mr. Sharkwell said that I was right and that they would cover the back of the area with a board. Then there were four inch base boards on the sides and the back of the area. To install the side boards for the shelves, they removed the side base boards and proceeded to install the back board, side boards, and shelves. To get the side board to fit in place, they just hacked the bottom of the side boards to fit in the space since they did not remove the base board across the back. Now, there is a gap between the back board and the two side boards. At this point, I asked if they were going to caulk between the back board and the side boards and was told no. So now there is a gap between the back board and both side boards, the length of the pantry. Now the icing on the cake was when they said they had worked out a solution to the issue with doors not being made the length of the area. I was not aware that there was an issue with the doors and this information was not told to me when they first measured the area which you would think they would have told me as soon as they measured. Now their solution, which they assured me I would love was to put at least a four by four wooden block (might have been bigger) the width of the area across the top under the frame that was in place, rendering the top shelve useless as well as esthetically not pleasing to the eye. When I voiced my opinion, they said “well what did you expect with the area that you gave us to work with.” Interesting, that these guys did not take the opportunity to be creative with the area, to design something instead of doing the “same old same old shelving system.” So I asked them to leave. I called them a few days later and we agreed that they would come over, remove their materials they installed, and give me my deposit back. I never heard from them again.
