I too had a very bad experience with Mark Davis llc tile. Very similar complaints. All nice to start then asks for half the money upfront. Then complaints start coming in...floor isn't even, too many people in and out(which was weird since it was an empty condo, yes, I would check on him to make sure that he didn't need anything), he said he told me that it would take 10-12 days to complete, but, I didn't have that time before I needed to move in. Originally he had a week, which he said he could do. I'm glad he quit after three days of doing tile work, which wasn't much, then the next guy had to clean after Mark. Michele, his helper was cutting tile on our balcony, causing chips to get insiide the sliding door track so we couldn't open or close the door. That cost another $800 to get the doors repaired. Do yourself a favor, don't hire Mark Davis Tile!

HORRIBLE! He is unprofessional, unskilled and incompetent. He misrepresented his ability to complete the work as a tile professional. When confronted with issues he became combative and hostile, to the point of threatening. It was our fault his work was poorly done. He does not warranty his work nor does he attempt to fix any issues. The most frustrating part was that Angie’s list had him rated as a preferred installer. I did not see any negative reviews. I can only deduce that they were buried or deleted. I know reviews must be deleted because my original review no longer exists. I hold Angie’s list accountable for the fact that he is still listed and has multiple complaints against him. I am submitting a formal complaint to both the Florida Business regulations dept and FL Dept of Agriculture who is responsible for this trade. At the time of our project his Volusia county business license was delinquent. I shared this with Angie’s list and they did nothing. They said if i upgraded my membership they might be able to help. They are just as responsible for not vetting the professionals they represent. This was our dream master bath and condo remodel and he destroyed it. His workmanship is that of a hack. He is too lazy to use a tile saw to cut the tile so he uses a hand held cutter which destroyed the edge of the tile. Shower remodel - 30% of the shower tile had missing grout. Tiles slipped on walls because. He admittedly used the wrong spacers. Yet he did nothing to fix them. Tiles were installed crooked and un level on the wall, the slope of the shower floor is inadequate, we have to squeegee the floor each time we use it. We had another tile contractor inspect his work. We were informed the shower wall tile was installed with the wrong mastic and even if it was the correct mastic not enough of it was used to hold a 12x24 tile. We were told because of that the tile will fall off the walls at some point. He tapped on a tile and it came loose, almost falling to the ground. We had no choice but to pay another tile contractor to demo the shower and redo it at a cost of $3500 dollars. The dry wall he installed was un level and the finish was horrible. The base boards he nailed thru our pocket doors so we could not open the doors. He did not complete the base boards. He put multiple cuts in a long wall. We paid for him to paint them. He never painted any of them. His girlfriend grouted our tile floors and did a horrible job. When we confronted him about missing grout in the floor tiles he started yelling profanity at us. My husband made the mistake of paying him before he had fixed anything. We never saw him again. I have subsequently found out that multiple people have had very similar experiences with Mark Davis Tile. He needs to be removed from Angie’s list. He should not be allowed to install anything.

My husband and I have been in our home for 8 years and have slowly been updating it little by little. We are in the middle of remodeling our master bathroom and hired Mark to do the tile work based on the good reviews we saw. I have to say out of all the work we’ve done to our house I have never worked with a more unprofessional person. It was a big job (flooring, shower pan, shower floor, subway tile, mosaic accents)and we showed him all the tile prior to hiring him. We are installing mosaic accent tile for niches in our shower. Upon installing, Mark did not center the pattern for first niche and when my husband and I pointed it out, rather than trying to offer a solution (like a professional) he started blaming my husband for not making the niches the right size and that we should’ve told him we wanted it centered prior to him cutting it (I was home the entire time and he did not come out to ask me anything other than the direction I wanted to the tile to go) He proceeded to start packing his equipment up. (I asked Michelle how many jobs he’s walked out of she said this would be the first one. However, now looking at more reviews apparently he has walked out on jobs or not showed up for some.) We had already paid him for half the job and he had just started. In hind site I should’ve just let him leave. After he settled down and decided to stay it was a very uncomfortable environment. We felt like we had to check and correct his work every 15 minutes. At one point he almost placed a shelf in the wrong location after I marked it out for him. Luckily I caught this while he was in the middle of placing it so he could correct it. After the job was complete and getting everything cleaned up (he left it a complete muddy mess) we noticed how sloppy the job really was. Crooked tiles, missing tile, loose tile, jagged edges, but the worst of all was when we finally got our shower head hooked up we realized that the shower pan that he did was done completely wrong. This was after my mother and husband on two separate accounts asked him about the pitch and slope of the floor and he assured them there was a slight decline in the pitch. Fact is the water runs away from the drain towards a wall and out of the shower. We had a different tile person come out today to check it out and it looks like we will have to chip out the entire shower floor to correct it. This will cost us at MINIMUM an extra $1000 between tile and labor not to mention the entire project is at a stand still until we get this corrected. My husband called Mark to ask him to give us half our money back. Mark told my husband he would give us $1000 and gave his home address (refused to meet at a public place) saying my husband could meet him at 5:30pm. My husband brought a police escort with him to Mark’s home where he proceeded to once again blame my husband for all the issues and he refused to give us our money back. He did offer to correct the problem but at this point we don’t trust him or his work. Not to mention he is very hot headed and I don’t want him back in my house with my little kids. I have to say I would not wish this experience on anyone. We were looking forward to our tile job bringing our remodel together and it has been a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE. The one and only thing I can give him credit on is that he is on time and he worked all day. But his work is unsatisfactory and he wants to play the victim holding no accountability for himself and now we are paying the price while he steals our money.

Great job , a big home job, tile removed and replaced in our great room, kitchen and hallway. It looks beautiful! Like a Beverly Hills Mansion floor! Mark and assistant Michelle worked tirelessly the 4 days it took to do it. They had to move some heavy stuff too. The stove and a heavy metal sculpture had to be set outside on the pool deck but my husband wrapped those items in tarps so that the rain wasn't a problem. They were very careful moving the big heavy refrigerator too but kept it plugged in for us in each position it was relocated. They got the dust and debris from the job cleaned up off the floors too. Easy communication on the job. Very thoughtful, thank you, Mark.

Mark and Michelle did a fantastic job. Mark is a perfectionist and I was very impressed by his attention to detail and his hard working ethic. I found him and Michelle to be very reliable in completing their work and doing it in a timely fashion with a reasonable price. They were a friendly couple, and it was a pleasure doing business with them. What more could you ask for? At some point we plan on hiring them again for a total master bathroom renovation.

Great team to work with. Did a beautiful job. Very detailed. Makes effort to satisfy. Very price competitive. Plan to use Mark on future project.

Called Mark and Michelle to install a kitchen backsplash tile. They came the same day as we called to give us an estimate and look at the tile. We scheduled for April, but they had an opening and came early. Mark and Michelle gave us suggestions about how to install the tile. We wound up taking the tile off the sheets and installing with a very small grout line. Looks fantastic! Mark is meticulous about tile selection and placement. He is a perfectionist and it shows in his work. We had used Mark before for a small job fixing an issue with our kitchen floor. and will use them again in April for a full bathroom remodel. Don't hesitate to give them a call!

Mark and Michelle were amazing, professional, clean and did A+ work. They went out of their way to assist us with our install and it came out better than I ever expected! Will hire them again for our next project!

We just had Mark and Michelle rip out 1200 sq feet of old tile and laminate flooring and replace the area with wood look tile plank flooring. I love my new floor. Mark and Michelle are hard working and professionals. They came everyday and did a fantastic job. We even had them retile a bathroom wall that now looks amazing! I will have them come back in a few months to tile my bedroom and master bathroom. I definitely recommend them!

Mark and Michelle installed floor tiles,3 back splashes and shower tiles.Additionally they hung doors and trim.All work was great.Good honest people who work at a very fair price.I would recommend them to anyone.

Did a great job. Arrived on time. Respectful of workspace, laid protective cloths on floors etc. Responded well when we made suggestions or asked for small changes. Overall outcome of project exceeded expectations. Have already referred them to others and plan to work with them again for a project in the near future.

Excellent! Amazing! Skilled and Talented! Mark is one of the best tile installers I have ever worked with!! He and Michelle are hard working, fair, honest but most importantly, they are true craftsman in their trade. Mark will not finish a job without making sure it is perfect. I had some difficult installs and he carefully planned things out so that my walkway and my Lanai were perfect. I would recommend them without hesitation and will use them again shortly!

Mark and Michelle laid tile in my kitchen, eating area, and storage closet in Flagler Beach. They were always here on time, important!, and did and excellent job. I would hire them again. Call them if you need tile laid!

They were paid in full but after looking the job was terrible Many miss aligned tiles, chipped tiles and the grout was terrible Made many attempts to contact him to come repair but he never shows up I even offered to pay him to repair his bad work and he still doesn’t want to make things right I’m taking him to court

Mark and Michelle the “Dynamic Duo” of tile setters. We hired Mark Davis Tile based upon previous testimonies and we were not disappointed. They tackled our large 1800 square foot job (entire house to include front foyer and back patio) - if it was a floor they tiled it. What was most impressive is several retired tile setters commented on their job “ great grout lines (full and straight).” Additionally, several neighbors came over to see the floor in progress and asked for quotes for their tile job. Their attention to detail was fantastic - several times throughout the job Mark saw instances where conditions needed something other than the usual and asked our opinion and approval before proceeding. At the end of each working day they cleaned up the work site and left the house (wouldn’t even know they were here). We can whole heartedly recommend Mark Davis Tile for any tile job big or small.

Mark and his wife arrived within a few hours of our initial call to measure and provide a quote. We set an appointment to install that same evening. They contacted me the day before to confirm and arrived on time after picking up the tile we had purchased from a local store. (I might add that their recommendation of a store also saved us almost $4 per square foot on the tile itself). While the job was expected to take 3 days, due to inclement weather, it ran into a fourth day. The installation was literally perfect, everything was cleaned up when they left, and we couldn't be happier with the final look of the job. Hoping we don't need to install any more new tile for a long time but, if we do, Mark would be our first call.
