I spoke with Tom and he listened to the symptoms and the history of the unit and gave me a rough idea of how expensive the repair would be. We discussed whether or not it was worth putting that kind of money into a 17 year old unit and I eventually decided to replace the refrigerator. Tom made no money on this call but never made me feel rushed. He was obviously knowledgeable about this brand, its problems, and life expectancy and was more than happy to offer advice.
