He "discovered" water damage but used the allotted insurance money without fixing the problem and left half of our upstairs without carpet. He never finished painting any project. Left large gaps in the vinyl flooring letting water to get under it, ruined glass shower tiles, and put drywall against an exterior wall with nothing in between. The articet he used sized the room wrong and he ordered the wrong size everything and I wonder if that is why we now have leaks. The roof is leaking between the old house and addition and causing real water problems. He also left air holes in the porch ceiling without covers and creatures have crawled inside. He installed gutters wrong and now 3 years later we have to replace most of his work. Also the outside painting is spotty and uneven. And the doors have massive gaps letting bugs in as well.

The owner is very cordial and speaks knowledgeably of the work that is to be done. However, follow through is terrible. Most of what was done required repeated requests to redo the work or was redone by another contractor. The front door is an ornate wood door from the 60s and I requested it be repaired/refinished. His employee removed the rotten portions of the door and filled it in with white wood putty (on a brown door) and screwed in a kick plate. It looks terrible, but was done by the time I saw it. The back door was replaced, but the jam is a mess. Fortunately you can only see it when the door is open. The exterior painting needed to be touched up three times after I was told it was done. Nothing was taped off and the painter was clearly inexperienced. Once the gutters were installed, water would pour down between the roof and the gutter instead of going into the gutter. He tried to fix it once, but it kept happening so we had another contractor redo the gutters entirely. The attic fan installation seems to have gone fine as we don't see any leaks, but I need to go up there to make sure they're actually running. The trellis needed to have some rotten wood replaced and be painted. Much of the new wood has warped since installation and the paint is so thin there are already signs of water intrusion. Very nice guy, but we would never use him again.

Pere (the owner) installed a front porch ramp for my parents.
he stipulation was that the ramp not be installed with fixtures that would permanently damage the brick on the porch as we anticipate selling the house one day. The porch/ramp was installed in a timely manner, however it is wobbly and my mother feels insecure going down the silver portion of the ramp, which feels very unsteady. We requested that Pere come back to the house and try to tighten everything up. He readily agreed to return to the job and screwed down a few boards.
Overall, we were not disatisfied with the job, although we did feel that the price was extremely high for the work that was done and the material used.
We probably won't use this workman again because of the pricing issue, but perhaps he expected negotiation.

He has very good prices and is reliable... he comes when he says he will. He does have a young helper who does some of the work with or for him. If we're not happy with any aspect his service he is quick to return and make sure we are.
