Veritas Roofers

Do yourself a favor and stay as far away as possible. This experience started off bad and got worse. I had to get the roof done quickly for a loan to go through. He promised to get it to done in the time frame because I was a veteran. Keep in mind that I had four other quotes that could do it in the same time. He was within range of other companies., but slightly higher. I decided I wanted to work with him because I do like working with veterans. A week goes by and nothing. Finally, I get notice from his company to expect the job to be done in 10- 12 weeks. When I call to find out what's going on, I am told that is normal and asked why I think I am special. I get a call back and am told yes, it was promised in that time frame. Now I have to get the permit notarized. I thought they had already gotten the permit and did not know I had to get it notarized. I have to drop everything and get the notarization, as its now behind schedule, They start working two days before the loan date deadline. I am assured it will be fine. On start date I am woken up by loud knocking. They forgot to push send on the message telling me not to park in driveway. That day he lets me know that his price will increase because of the double roof. The house had shingles added before me instead of replacing roof. When I ask, he tells me that he could not tell until work had started, but would charge half price because I am a veteran (see a trend?) Keep in mind that the other roofers noticed this and included it in the price. BTW, their price was the same as his discounted price. I get a text letting me know extra boards are needed, That night I notice no noise, I text to see id they are done, They were, but did not have the respect to let me know, I let the dogs out. I find out that the gate was left open after the digs ran off. I have to spend about 4 hours looking for my dogs and my wife is in tears. I finally get the dogs back in. I did text Jim to let him know, and his response is he is sorry, he will make certain the gates are closed in future, The next morning I get up and check the gates, both sides of house they are wide open. I ask for someone that speaks English. No one does. I use google translate to let them know the dogs are about to go outside. I go to work and come home to both gates open. I close both gates and let dogs out. I get a text letting me know that i needed to bring my dogs in, I let him know they are in. He tells me he does not want the dogs out while his workers are there. . Really? I tell him that I would have let someone know if someone spoke English. He calls me a racist. I have known racist. I do not like racist. I do not like being called a racist. anting to have someone onsite during major renovations is common sense, not racist, At this point I am p***** and very much so. Next day I am up and waiting for them to arrive. Jim calls and lets me know they are almost there, I tell him to have them eait until someone that speaks English arrives, He tells me he cannot do that and will have to send his men to a different site. I tell him to do what he needs to, Finally a foreman shows up that speaks English, Throughout the day the gates are left open despitr me asking them to close gate behind. The job was completed two days late, forcing me to pay money to extend the offer, The total was close to 50% higher than the proposal. The teo foreman that occasionally showed up were former law enforcement, with no roofing experience. Save yourself a headache and go elsewhere.

We hired Veritas Roofers, LLC to replace our roof, soffits, and gutters. Unfortunately, we found Veritas’ communication, workmanship and customer service to be poor during this process. Email, texts and phone calls asking about incomplete and punch-list items and subcontractor timelines often went with no reply. There are multiple areas where work was not neatly or professionally completed (photos available upon request) including damaged shingles, bent drip molding, a noisy ridge vent and sloppy caulking easily visible from the street. The shingle manufacturer, GAF, has since confirmed that the damaged shingles installed by Veritas are not just an aesthetic issue, but may reduce the longevity of the roof and that the noisy ridge vent was likely incorrectly installed. We had asked Veritas to remedy these items but instead, they have offered excuses and deflections regarding the quality of the roof. We already had to deal with 2 leaks that need ceiling repairs. Veritas patched a leaking, incorrectly installed valley after the 2nd leak, but they left a repair that looks very sloppy and unprofessional with globs of tar and white caulk on the roof (see photo). Veritas later sent a contractor to repair the resulting ceiling damage, but the contractor told us that the damage was much worse that Veritas told him it was, and immediately after that, he became incapacitated and unable to say when he could return to repair the ceiling. The damaged ceiling was turning black with mold and was bulging, so the repair couldn’t wait. Veritas eventually reduced their bill so we could hire someone to make the repair, but the amount offered was less than estimates we provided them with, so we will ultimately end up paying several hundred dollars to fix damage caused by their leaking roof. Overall, working with Veritas to get a new roof installed was a difficult and disappointing experience for us, with poor quality of work, poor communication and customer service.

STAY AWAY !!!! the worst experience . I had more confidence in my previous 16 year old roof than the one they installed. they installed a new older, uglier, faded, full of flaws roof . the people are very rude and unprofessional . be aware !!! stay away !! poor craftmanship , they skim in the protective/barrier material , odd smell in my garage just 1 week after they finished and first rain !!! the owner is horrible and will say things like 'warranty will cover you' and "trash the work of all other roofers" which is exactly projecting , cause he knows that he is new to the business and his work is not good !!! oh, they wont clean properly afterward !! which very likely might cost you few tires from the nails !!! they left with damages and not proper finishing (odd aluminum plates protruding that weren't there, broken glass from ceiling fan that was left behind "there is children in the house" , didn't clean properly .........) !!!

Working with Veritas was an absolute pleasure. We were coordinating this work long distance and everything went smoothly with quick and pleasant response to all of our needs. I would highly recommend this company.

It went excellent. Fair pricing. Jim, Lisa and Alex were great to work with, all questions answered and taken care of. One bonus is we thought we were going to have to replace the gutters and they saved them therefore saved us money. We have already referred a couple people to them

We had a great experience with the company. The company showed up on time, worked long days so the job would be completed efficiently and did excellent work. It also did an outstanding job of clean up. I highly recommend the company! The job was so good a builder working on a new house around the corner stopped by to get the name of the company because he wanted to use them on his roof.

Amazing fast ,clean, professional,. They took all the worries way. I have friends that had their roofs done and nightmares . took forever and leaks. Excellent workmanship! Veritas had been highly recommended by some of our friends. Nevertheless, we still did our due diligence and subsequently obtained inspections and quotes from five roofing companies. We are very pleased with Veritas’ roofing crew — hardworking, meticulous, and professional. Our new roof looks great, and we are highly satisfied with the results. We strongly recommend Veritas!
