You might save a little bit of money, but it is not worth the headache. Timelines were not met, and the work was sloppy.

With Universal Ace Painting the quality of work was good, but the time frame to complete the work went really slow for one room, and part of a hallway.

It was fine. There were no issues scheduling with them and they showed up on time. They worked hard. However, they said they would come back the next day, and I never heard from them.

My experience with him was alright. He was very pleasant and punctual. He should have used oil paint because it was on latex. But he did a fair job and I’m not complaining.

Jesus is a knowledgeable and experienced painter. He therefore kept on top of all the issues associated with the painting projects at the house. He quoted a fair and reasonable price for his services and then kept to the work scheduled we established for the painting project.

It was very easy. When we told them we were required by our HOA to use Sherwin Williams colors, they inquired what paint we wanted to use. When we let them know which one, we were informed it could be obtained at greater discount than they can get if we just wait for the 40% off sale. They even told us when it was. We purchased all the paint ourselves, Universal Ace just told us how much we'd need. They were very close in their estimates and we did not wind up with much left over paint. It was a larger job than the special deal was for, but they honored the additional labor at the same rate. I thought this was first rate. I actually had the Sherwin Williams rep come over and look at the thickness and application. He said the paint was installed according to the manufacturers directions for thickness. So far, it looks great. Let's just hope the paint lasts! Would recommend to others.

I cannot say enough about how impressed I am with the quality of work by Jesus and his crew. I was under pressure to have the interior painted in order to get the home ready for a rental for the first of the month. Jesus promptly gave me a very reasonable quote and asked us to choose paint. He and is crew the next day began the painting. He completed the job within three days. In addition, Jesus went above and beyond in making sure that I was satisfied. He came back for the very minor touch ups that were necessary after the carpet installer left. He replaced everything on the walls and filled in all the holes. He was very conscientious and professional about the entire job from start to finish. Also, he was right there working along side his crew. It was very clear to me that Jesus wanted to be sure that once he completed the job, his customer was completely satisfied. I feel so lucky to have found him! I highly recommend Unversal Ace Painting for all your painting needs, and I will be calling him again.

Jesus came round and gave me a prompt quote on the interior of my home. He understood that I would be getting it completed in stages and was fine with that. The large bedroom he completed today was of an excellent standard. I have owned more then 12 homes in three different countries and know when a paint job is done well and when it is not. He was honest, trustworthy, kind, polite and great value for money. I had painted one of the other bedrooms myself previously and done a terrible job and he even fixed up that room, on his time, with his paint, for no extra money. I would highly recommend him as a great, budget conscious, timely, trustworthy professional painter.

The worst paint job I have ever seen. Three sub contractors, including the local Benjamin Moore representative and every single subcontractor that has been to the site, have stated they have never seen such a horrible job. No prep done to the wall surface or primer used. No protection put over the floors to prevent damage. Claimed to have used two coats of paint, when in fact he did not. Indiscriminately sprayed paint everywhere. Claimed to know how to repair drywall before he was hired, then after the fact, claimed he didn't know how to do it, primarily because he couldn't be bothered to do his job. Continually represented that he used primer on the trim, when he did not. He put latex paint over oil based paint, which will require that all of the doors be removed, sanded, primed and repainted. The cost of labor to repair his sloppiness will far exceed his bid for the entire project. He is a grossly incompetent painting contractor. I have multiple photographs of the damage have and would gladly share them with the public. He has ignored both emails and a certified letter (both with pages of documentation) requesting a response and a refund. Unfortunately, legal action will most likely be required because he won't take responsibility for his horrific work.

"This customer has trust issues Like I said before there was a $400 balance left to her which is enough to finish the job because the customer is providing materials and the $400 left is Just for labor,so I don't know why she's talking about material money. The invoice I left her was clear. There was only two bathrooms left and touchups in the kitchen and what she calls damage I call touchups. She gave me $800 and that was a balance of 400 to do what I just described if it wasn't the truth why would she give me the $800 and except my invoice that I described in detail what was the balance and I wrote in that invoice in detail what was left in the job also. She gave me a check I have the check number I have pictures and video of everything I did. There's no way somebody else is charging her $800,The two bathrooms are 4x9 And the walls are 9 feet and touchups. They are ripping her off or she's lying. And I still have to invoice her for the rest of the job that I Completed. This job was just price for labor and she was providing material. It's very detailed in the invoice. That I gave her and she approved by giving me a check. I have all the evidence to defend myself so I'm not worried. I will not work for a customer that does not trust me and I will not take that chance and put myself and my guys at risk. She is just mad that I pulled off the job because of her trust issues. As a business I could pick and choose who I want to work for That's why I left her that deposit it was planning to finish the job. And she thinks that my labor was in vain and my hard work she is out of her mind. Angie's list now you have my side of the story. I appreciate you guys for axing me for my side of the story I respect that. I have always treated Angie's list members to the best of my abilities I will never try to take advantage of any member you guys know that every member and Angie's list has always trust me and you can look at my reviews to prove that. This is the first member ever not to trust me,and this has never happened to me before I am really surprised because I have done work for her in the past and never had a problem. Jesus and his crew came on time at 9 in the morning, and were very friendly and professional. Tenants were moving out and the house was in serious need of patching and painting. New floors were being installed and carpets were being steamed the same day, but they gladly worked around the other workers and completed the job on time. He even touched up without me asking in areas beyond the initial estimate. Could not have been more satisfied with how everything turned out.

It went well Jesus and his workers showed up each day ready to work and they did.
Jesus purchased all the materials and even after a miscue with my painting color picking he worked with us and repainted the areas that the original color did not work on.

Amazing difference! The condo looks, smells and feels like a new place! Best work I have ever seen and under difficult conditions with all the tobacco residue. I had three estimates and not only is Universal Ace Painting an excellent price, the work is exceptional! Thank you !

we purchased the angies list big deal, did not include cost of paint. painter allowed us to use his discount account. Job went well, pressure cleaned, and prepped first day. Then painted. No followup contact from painter/owner to see how job was and if satisfied. Never saw owner on site, painter did not seem to speak English.
.Some detail trim was missed, and some over spray, trim around windows a little sloppy, and on window screens in some areas. Roof chimney edge trim was not done. This was an investment property, would not use this provider form my personal home, and maybe not for investment property. Price was good, but quality suffered.

Fantastic. Jesus, as usual, did a great job. We stayed with the historically accurate colour scheme for our 1920's Shot Gun Duplex -- he provided good insight w.r.t. colour. They painted the shed using the same colour scheme. The paint job turned out great!
