Techno Appliance Repair

First contacted Wayne on 10/5 and he scheduled a visit for that day, 12:30 - 2:30. Wayne arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the problem. He had the required part on his truck and we agreed on the cost. He installed the required part and powered up the fridge. Wayne waited a few minutes to insure the unit was operating properly. Assured the unit was operating properly, Wayne processed my credit card. The entire service call lasted less than 45 minutes. It was a pleasure to watch a dedicated professional in action. Techo goes to the top of my appliance repair call list!

My husband and I woke up to a dripping appliance and saw by the digital display that the reason it was not working was that the circulation fan had stopped. I called three providers and Wayne, the owner of Techno Appliance Repair, was the first to respond. He squeezed me into his schedule, checked the fridge, and diagnosed that the entire control panel had failed.

He and his employee Jorge found the right model control panel and returned to install it... this was in addition to an otherwise full day of work for them.  Let me mention that when I spoke to the other two contractors I contacted they were very nice but weren't sure they could interrupt their schedules.

We really appreciated the willingness to check out our problem and even more so, the time they took to solve it. It saved us a lot of money (no throwing away food) and their bill was absolutely fair and I will encourage family and friends to call them if they need service.

I called Wayne this morning around 10 a.m. I explained the problem. He knew exactly what the issue was and the brand of oven I had, without me even telling him. He explained that that model has issues with the doors. He said he could be over in about 45 minutes to fix it. He called about 40 minutes later to say he was running a little late and would be here soon. He showed up before noon and fixed the oven door rather quickly. He saw that I was disabled and gave me a 20% discount. He understands that money is tight for people living on disability. The stove is rather old and I was debating whether or not to just buy a new one, but with money being so tight, I didn't want to do that as the stove itself is working OK. With the holidays approaching, I was expecting the price of the repair to be much higher. You know, supply and demand and people needing their ovens for holiday cooking. Wayne seems to be a very fair and knowledgable person. He told me if I have any concerns, he would be able to help me, just call him. If I had anything in the house break down, he knows people that can help me, for a reasonable rate. He was a great help to me and I will definitely contact him in the future for all my home repairs.

I called Wayne at about 8:30 in the morning and explained the problem. he told me he would be able to come between 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM that day. At 11:55 wayne called me at my office to tell me he was on his way so I could meet him in time at my house. He showed up and began to diagnose the machine. After approximately 1 hour and ruling everything else out, he determined it was the main controller board. He estimated that the repair would run about $300. After calling several of hi suppliers he let me know that, if I wanted to repair it, the part would be in by Friday. He also suggested that we may want to look at some local stores to see what the current prices were so I could do a comparison to see if it might be better just to get a new one since we did get 7 years out of our old Fridgidaire (which he said was actuall VERY good for that brand). We did indeed find a great sale at Home Depot for avery comparable new LG machine for under $500! I called Wayne and let him know we were going to go for the newer machine and he was fine with that. He said that the machine we were looking at was a fine machine and should last us for awhile.

I like the fact that Wayne didn't just push his service and that he actually was looking out for our best interest by suggesting that we look for a new machine before we committed to the reapir. I know there are many companies out there that would not turn aside a $300 job even if it was in the customer's best interest. Thanks, Wayne! You will definitely get our business whenever we have appliance issues.

As a retired military person, he also gave me a 10% discount off my bill.
