I agreed to the price even though I felt it was high since I needed an immediate start. Mr. Stephenson was prompt for the appointment and his painters were on time during the project as well. Halfway through the job, Mr Stephenson asked for a higher price due to extra work he didn't anticipate. I reluctantly agreed even though I had a signed agreement, I believed he would not deliver if I refused. The job ran a day over the estimate and he rushed through final inspection at dusk. I agreed the job was complete since he was rushing to another longer term job.
The next day I noticed many blemishes throughout the house and emailed pictures to Mr Stephenson. He was apologetic and promised he would return after his new assignment to correct the issues. He emailed a few times to say he would stop by but never did.
It is evident that the quality of the finish is inconsistent from room to room. It is evident that one or more of his crew was inexperienced. In addition, one or more of his crew were smokers and did so either in the garage or just outside it which left a strong odor for months.
Overall not a good experience for the money paid.

Several years ago Mr. Stephenson had painted the exterior of my house and did an excellent job. We had discussed and had  a verbal contract for him to paint the interior early this year. That discussion was in February of '12, he was to "get to it shortly".  He had put me off twice and the second agreed upon date for commencement of the project  was April 9, 12. I called on March 23 to verify that April 9 was still "a go". He did not return my call, and in order to get the job completed in the reasonable future, I was forced to contract with another painter.
