James arrived on time and did a very thorough job of cleaning out our air ducts. He cleaned up after the job and put everything back where it was. The sanitizer he used made it smell very good afterwards. The machine he used actually scrubbed a lot of stuff out of the ducts.

The tech touched the air handlers coil and point the beeping leak gun and said: it’s a goner. Proceeded to give me 2 options. Replace the complete system, or replace the parts which it’s hard to find. None of the following was performed. Air conditioner tune-up includes Calibrating and leveling thermostat, inspecting filter, inspecting bearings for wear, inspecting condenser coil, monitoring operating pressures of refrigerant, inspecting safety devices for proper operation, monitoring volts and amps on fan motor, tightening all electrical connections, inspecting and testing contactor for burns and/or pits, inspecting electrical for exposed wiring, inspecting fan blades, monitoring compressor for proper amp draw, volt draw, and wiring connections

It was at night of course, I had come home to a hot house. I called Service Star because of their rating and the fact they list their hours of operation as 24/7. I was given an appointment time, but they were a bit late. In their defense this was the first really hot day of the new summer season in Florida, so all AC companies were fielding a bunch of calls. Overall it went great. The technician arrived, diagnosed and fixed the problem in just a few minutes - he was very professional and knowledgeable. He then looked over my system and gave me a quote on a new system. My system was clearly leaking Freon, so the service call bought me enough time to research and choose a replacement unit. I would have had Service Star do the new system, but they carry Rheem, and I did not want a Rheem unit.

A/C Tech diagnosed the problem and recharged the A/C. Very quick and friendly service.

Unthorough....finished service in less than 30 minutes. one week later, the coolant had leaked out of my system because the tech didn't reattach a cap properly. the next day, Also, noticed that the system wouldn't cool below 79 degrees. Tech had fouled up my thermostat. Last but not least, he caused my coil to freeze up. It cost me a new coil's labor. Tech gave me a long song and dance about how crummy my a.c. system was and that if he replaced my coil, if he could get one in less than four or five weeks, the new coil would cost $2000! Labor would be $600! Funny, my system was working just fine until he came out to do a routine service. As it stands, since he did something to sabotage my system, i had a friend replace the coil that was covered under warranty and charged me $400 to install. If anyone reads this, please DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! You'll regret the day you invited them into your home.

Horrible - Tried to Sell us a Bill of Goods. Called them out to do a 21 point on our AC because we recently moved into the home. Told us we needed an entirely new AC without even looking at the compressor. Yes, we had some visible microbial growth and the coil is rusted a bit, but a second and third opinion revealed that we didn't even need the coils cleaned. Just some minor cleaning with no removal of parts. Second opinion tech showed us pictures of an actual dirty coil. Don't believe a word these guys say.

They were able to get my A/C up and running again. They were reasonably priced, fast and able to come out quickly on a Sunday.

I called back on Monday, Donnie came out that afternoon and the price was great, he was professional and pleasant. The installers came Tuesday. A friend was at the house as I had to work and he kept calling me with things to ask Donnie. Donnie never sounded irritated and always said you are the customer and we want you to be happy. The issue required the technician to come back after he left Tuesday and he was pleasant as well even though it was already late. This technician couldn't identify why the unit was registering the correct numbers (my friend identified this issue, I would never had know, they left and all seemed fine). The technician was coming back Wednesday morning ( I had to take a day off of work) but Donnie first had another technician come to the house that evening. They found the copper pipes or whatever goes under the house was the problem and they needed to install new pipes through the attic. They never showed any disrespect or tone that wasn't professional and made me feel like the customer did come first. It took a lot of time and someone else to keep pushing the issue (my friend did A/Cs in Texas so he knew things luckily). When they say it isn't really the A/C that fails it is the installation, this could have been one of those. Thanks Service Star for great service. Luckily it isn't hot out but I can't really test the system but we will!

The installation was smooth and quick. The technician picked up the unit in the morning and by early afternoon the air was cooling again. Today the technician called me back within a half hour. I explained the drain was clogged even though I used the vinegar to keep it clean. He asked if I had a shop vac and when I told him yes, he explained how to clear the clog myself. This saved me a service fee and took me about 10 minutes. Thanks for always being so helpful and today they put my interest ahead of them making money. Super company!

The technicians were responsive, prompt, professional, and kind. They came out in the evening and stayed until almost midnight replacing my system and making sure I was satisfied. I highly recommend this company.

They responded quickly and were on time. They gave an honest assessment of my system and didn't try to sell what wasn't needed. They also had the best price and were able to come much sooner than other companies I contacted.

They were able to replace 1 of the 2 units the day we discovered the need to replace so we still had part of the house under A/C, which in mid July in FL was very important. The rest of the work was completed the next day. Happy with the way everything went.

It started off okay, when the salesman Joe seemed to be very nice and explained what I needed and they could even be here the next day! It was all down hill after that! First, the tech showed up almost 3 hours late. Then, after complaining out loud for 3 hours, told me there was no way the unit I was promised, was going to fit! After a lot of back and forth with a supervisor, I was told they were going to put in an "upgraded" system, at no cost to me, but they wouldn't be able to come back until the next day! To compensate sleeping in 90 degree heat without air, the supervisor told me they would buy me dinner. The next day, the tech shows up with a helper. They both were a joke! The lead tech worked for 15 minutes at a time, and then took 15 minute smoke breaks. His helper was on Facebook on his phone almost the entire time! They finally get the unit in, and then when they were trying to program the thermostat, they didn't know what they were doing, and hit a wrong button, supposedly making the thermostat have to be sent back to the manufacturer! So, after 2 long days without air, they told me they had to go to Home Depot and get me a "better" thermostat! They came back with a $30 Honeywell one, instead of the smart one I was promised, and told me that it was top of the line! By this time I had had it!! I called the supervisor again, told him how enraged I was that I wasn't getting anything that I had been promised or paid for, and he told me he would knock $200 off the price, and was putting a check in the mail right then. He also was going to have a new tech come back the following week to put in a smart thermostat. That finally happened on the Friday, after having to call back twice to find out when they were coming! Over the weekend, I went outside to look at the unit. I paid $7000 for a 17 seer unit, as I was told that was the most efficient for my home. When I looked at the sticker on the side of the unit, it says it's a 14 seer!!! Those are much less expensive, so I feel I have been completely taken advantage of! To add insult to injury, I have still not received my gift card for dinner, or the $200 check that was promised, 10 days later! I will be contacting the owner to let them know what a terrible experience this has been, and to try to actually get what I paid for! I would not recommend to anyone!!

I took the deal of $ 39 for cooling tune up. The technician was professional, friendly and came to my house in the first appointment option that i asked for. They offered an extra heating tune up service for $ 10.95 more, and i accepted. The cooling system needed two pounds of refrigerant, one was free and i had to paid the second one for $ 45.00. Total of cooling and heating tune up was $ 94.95.

I'm extremely apprehensive of service people. Often they are more interested in selling a replacement rather than fixing what's existing. I called Service Star and they were very professional from the initial appointment to the final instillation. The service technician arrive when he said he would and his diagnosis mirrored A/C checks I've gotten before and I knew that the unit was on it's last legs, and it was dead now. I was so pleased that I was able to buy a new unit for less than the estimates I've had before at zero percent financing for 18 months . It was installed the very same day and the installers were FABULOUS! Since they were unable to perform the tune-up on the old unit (the $45 service purchased from Angie's list) I requested a refund. They issued a check the very next day . I could not have wanted my experience to be any more perfect. This is certainly a professional organization. I'm a very happy and satisfied customer.

Well, I was disappointed that he found the bottom half of my unit so corroded, he highly recommended adding a UV light at $375. I'm on a senior fixed budget, so it was very worrisome to me, but he seemed to know what he was doing and the alternative was, he said, that I would have to replace the unit very, very soon. He was great, but I do not understand why the other air-conditioning companies through Angie's list, who have come to do the same thing over the last three years, did not recommend that sooner. I have a UV light in the top portion, which is nice and clean. The only explanation I can think of is that the previous service folks never opened the bottom portion of the unit. Since I had already paid for the service, he deducted $50 from total price. I was very pleased with the young man who came. He explained everything in detail, was kind, professional, and seemed very knowledgeable.

Matt the technician was a huge help. Very friendly and straight forward! He let us know what went wrong and what needed to be fixed. We were told he would be to us within an hour and showed up in 30 minutes! thanks again for your help matt! I'll be sure to use your service again in the future! (:

The employee introduced himself and started checking out everything. Very professional, checked out my refrigerant and did suggest it was time for the air handler to be replaced. He showed me that bad parts which I took care of later on

Mike came out and beat the quote of all others. I had them install dedicated returns in all rooms, and they welcomed my input for the best locations for the delivery vents and dedicated returns. Upon accepting their quote, they came out the very next day and finished the install the day after that. Because they were able to start work the very next day, I didn't have time to dry wall the cabinet space for the air handler. No problemo. They went to the local DIY store and got a few sheets of dry wall and they put it up. Not only that, when I expressed a concern about not being able to paint the inside of the cabinet space after they installed the air handler, they went and painted the dry wall as well. I now have a 4 ton unit and an energy efficient system to keep the house nice and cool. Everything was first rate. I am very happy I chose them to do the work.
