They called me up and said that it was time for them to do the annual inspection on my system because it hadn?t been inspected for a year. So, I set it up for them and they came to work on it. They said it was fine and charged me $110. There was some problem with the system and I called the company to tell them the problem. Then they sent somebody out and it turned out that the person who had done the maintenance on it had bypassed the salt system. They left with the thing still bypassed. I spent about a month with completely untreated water by the water softener. I then got rid of them. I have only been in this house for 2 years. When I bought the house, there was already a Rainsoft system in place. So, I contacted them and they came out to look at the system. Then they said that it looked like it was out of salt for a very long time. They also said that the warranty had expired. They said that they would have to rebuild the system with a nice new modern system they had. They said that they would use some of the components and the electronics would be replaced. I agreed to that and they did that. Then they charged me a little over $1000. The system worked fine. For 2 hours every other night, I wasn?t supposed to use the water because it would be going through the cycle. So, that was annoying. However, the thing that annoyed me more was that they seemed to be much more concerned about selling me stuff. I used to constantly get phone calls from them offering me to sell me stuff. They also called up and tried to give offers which were unrelated to the water softeners. It was like dinner coupons in various restaurants. I don?t like to be constantly called or solicited. They called me constantly to tell me that my system needed to be maintained. They had told me that it needed to be maintained once a year. They sometimes used to call me multiple times in a month. When I finally did have it maintained, they left the water off. Then they called me twice within a week after they had done that to tell me that I needed to have an annual check done on my system. I started to be rude and abusive since I was being harassed. I couldn?t argue with them. It was supposed to be an annual check. After doing a check in like April of 2009, they called me in July of 2009 for the annual check. So, I told them that it wasn?t a year yet and they were sorry and told me that there was some problem with their records. Then two weeks later, I got another call for the same thing. Sometimes I used to get more than one call a week. They finally did do the checkup and messed it up. They did send somebody out and they didn?t charge me for that one. However, I was still getting phone calls for the annual maintenance. So, I finally went with another company. I wouldn?t recommend them to others and I would never use them again.

We had a system put in and in July started to have some problems with the salt container. We were told we needed routine service and it would cost $125. When the Technician arrived (he was on time) he stated we did really need any routine service, but showed us a couple of operating techniques that were not explained to us when we received the system initially the year before. Now in January 2009 the system is leaking and we are being told that we never paid for the July service call. Come to find out, they charged the wrong account and never contacted us to obtain the correct number. When contacted to speak with a supervisor, Ben advised us this was our problem as we did not check our account to assure it was properly charged. The biggest problem now is they are the only dealer in the area and we have no choice but to use them or void our warrenty. I don't put much into the warrenty so void it will be. I am contacting another plumbing company.

I called for an appointment and was told a technician would call the date of the appointment with a time. He gave a one hour window and was on time. He determined the problem and put on a new part. The lifetime warranty is only good for the original purchaser. He showed me how the unit worked and how to turn it off I needed.

They filter was place in incorrectly. We discovered this in March of this year. There was mold everywhere. They replaced the canister. We need to replace some of the kitchen cabinets that were destroyed by the water. They sent out they specialist who said they would not do anything about.

Usually when something broke on the water treatment system, they'd get someone out to the house within a day or two. The service calls were $92.95 and that's before they even did anything. Also, they stated charging a fuel surcharge of $3 per trip. When they would come out, many times they would not have the part needed for repair on the truck, which would mean another trip and I would have to stay home and wait for them. My last encounter with them, we had a leak. They were going to send someone out in a couple of days. I told them I needed them to come late in the day. The technician showed up at 1:25pm, I got home at 3pm and found a bill for $29. The next time they scheduled someone, they never showed. I bought another system. I would not recommend Rainsoft to any one. The parts break and wear out frequently and can ONLY be replaced with their parts. They charge too much for house calls. When you buy your unit, they tell you it has a 'lifetime' warranty. This is a lie.

THE 1ST INSTALLATION WAS DONE VERY POORLY. WATER LEAKAGE WETTED ONE ENTIRE BEDROOM. THE 2ND INSTALLATION WAS COMPLETED BY A MORE SENIOR AND MORE EXPERIENCE TECHNICIAN.
