Pack-Rat

We had purchased a home in Groveland FL and needed to move household items from our home in Glenville NY to Fl. We have done the truck rental several times in the past, moving our kids around the country and knew the issues involved with going that route. We had reserved a Penske truck but started to also look into going with a container and got quotes from Pods, UPack, and 1800Packrat. Packrat had the best price and also appeared to have the best overall value and we went with them. They dropped off a 16' container at our house in NY and we had as much time as we needed to get it loaded. They also supplied 20 brand new heavy moving blankets and a brand new lock (you get to keep the lock). After about a week we had the container picked up and it was shipped to our home in Fl. We unloaded it in a day and called them for a pickup. They were there within two days. As long as the total time you have the container does not go over 30 days there are no additional charges. These containers are all steel, and have plenty of places to tie things down. We had ours packed so full, with not one sq. foot unused that we did not have to tie anything down. When we unloaded everything was just as we had packed it!! Nothing broken. A great thing is that the container sits on the ground and you do not need a ramp.
